Answers:
I'm a vegan through and through and I have two dogs and they are fed a BARF (bones and raw food) diet, which is closest to what they'd eat in the wild and if done correctly is healthy for them!.
And yes this diet includes raw meat!.
It is a mixture of grains, fruit, vegetables, bones and meat!. In the correct amounts the majority of their diet is meat though!.
I don't think that vegan would wear leather except in extreme circumstances, and event hen it would be after all the other available routes had been looked through!.
A person who follows a vegan diet but continues to use animal product (leather, wool, silk, fur, soaps and shampoo with animal fats) is called a STRICT vegetarian!.
Most vegetarians are lacto-ovo!.
Vegetarian (Lacto-ovo- vegetarian)
When most people think of vegetarians, they think of lacto-ovo-vegetarians!. People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians (“lacto” comes from the Latin for milk, and “ovo” for egg)!.
Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, but does eat dairy products!.

Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

99% of my diet is vegan based but I don’t consider myself to be a vegan because I still do things that are unvegan!.

Many people fail to realise that being Vegan is so much more than the food you eat!.

The Vegan movement is a concept that embraces the whole scenario of a cruelty-free and animal exploitation-free lifestyle and covers every aspect of your being: food, clothes, cosmetics, employment, ethics and values!.

If the leather is used or they owned it (leather) before they went vegan it's fine!.

I guess since the animal isn't vegan and can't feed itself there's no choice, but if they knew before they got the pet that they would have to feed it meat I would think they wouldn't get that pet considering it supports the meat industry and all!. Oh well, not my problem!.

BTW--dogs are omnivores!.

Matt & Brendan are both vegan and they say the complete opposite!. Which is it!?!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If the leather was purchased years before becoming vegan - it may be okay to wear it!. It is not environmentally responsible to simply throw away everything that is of animal origin!. Another option is to give it away!.

Cats and Dogs most certainly can be vegan!

However, if the person continues to wear and buy leather, continues to buy cruelty laced pet foods they are only a "Strict Vegetarian" not vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

first of all control if it's eco leather!.!.!. mostly clothes aren't made of real leather so if you like the texture just make sure to buy eco leather- i'm not vegetarian but still i would never wear real leather!.!.!. as for buying food for your pets that doesn't mean you aren't vegan!.!.!. it would be cruel not to give an animal the right food he/she needs to be healthy!.!.!. don't listen to these people who say you shouldn't buy them meat!.!.!. they probably don't have pets and if they do someone should take them away from them!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'd be a vegetarian with vegan dietary tendencies!.

1) Vegans don't own animals because that is exploitation(although many "vegans" like to rationalize that behavior)

2) Leather involves exploiting an animal, vegans don't exploit animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

humm!.!.so!. do you want to be a 'vegan' coz you think its fashionable to be one!? or do u agree with their views!?!?

you shouldnt do stuff, like not buy leather just so u can use the tittle of "vegan" you should do what you think is morally acceptable!.!.!.vegan is just a word!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you buy meat your obviously not a vegan!.

wearing a leather coat that you bought while you are vegan is not vegan!.

cats need meat, dogs don't!. so a vegan could have a dog and not have to buy meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, vegans do not participate in any exploitation of any animal, that includes wearing fur or any other animal products!. Some don't wear fleece or silk either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All these rules are making me sick!.!. WEAR what you want FEED your animals what you want and EAT what you want!. Who cares what LABEL someone applies to you!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you wish to call yourself by that title you can!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say not a true vegan!. Only a vegan in eating habits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegans don't eat or wear anything from an animal or insectWww@FoodAQ@Com
