Answers:
Besides animal rights, I would say the two biggest reasons are health and environmentalism!.

Vegetarian diets can be just as unhealthy as meat diets, but if you eat real food (veggies, fruits, legumes, whole grains) vs!. vegetarian junk food (french fries and Coke are vegetarian!.!.!.), it is very good for you!. also, too much animal protein is bad for you in many ways!.

Vegetarian diets are good for the environment because they are more efficient!. It takes a lot more water and land to feed livestock per pound of meat produced compared to what it takes to produce a pound of plant food!. Plants also don't put out all the methane that pollutes our environment and damages the ozone layer!. In fact, plants clean our air, so in addition to not causing harm, they actually actively help clean up harm done by other pollutants!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People might find the idea of meat gross!. It's a lump of muscle from a dismembered animal!. Ew!.

Some people might think it's better for their health, though those are the sorts who are more likely to just cut back on red meat if that's their only reason!.

I've heard arguments that it's better for the environment!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Number 1 reason!.!.!.your health!. That's for veganism, not lacto ovo veg!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It could be because they do not like the taste/smell of meat, or maybe because of health reasons!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For their health!. I'm just way to picky not to eat dairy and eggs!. But yeah!. Some people do it to become healthier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I second Susan K's answer!. She saved me a lot of typing!. Thumbs up!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
