Long time vegetarians who started eating meat/fish. Why?!

Question: Long time vegetarians who started eating meat/fish!. Why!?
Been a vegetarian for many years!. Not tempted to eat flesh!. Never liked the idea of eating meat/fish but did so, then finally did something about it!. Yet former vegetarians/vegans have seemed to very suddenly give up this regime on a whim!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I've tried reverting once before!. I have been a vegan since my 4th birthday and am now 21!. I tried reverting back because my friends and family were constantly complaining that it was too hard to cook for me sometimes, and it was hard eating out at some places with my friends!. also, because it was annoying dealing with all the stereotypes, and playing 20 questions with meat eaters!. So I tried to eat a chicken nugget one day, which only caused me to get sick!. So I went back to not eating meat/animal products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I started eating meat and fish again after a 35 year absence!. I don't have a lot but just the occasional bit of bacon, ham or fish/seafood!.
Two reasons for it really!. The first was that I eat out a lot, as well as travelling abroad to places where the diet is mostly meat/ fish based!. I found that, even if I could get vegetarian food (which you can't always) it was often not nutritionally balanced!. For instance, some UK pubs or restaurants think that they can feed vegetarians with mushroom stroganoff doused in cream and served with white rice and that it is a nutritionally acceptable meal (it isn't even nice!)!. Although I still usually go for a vegetarian option if possible I do now have a lot more flexibility!.
The other reason was that I thought eating a bit of meat would help me to control my weight!. Again, this is mainly when eating out - there is sometimes much less fat in the meat/ fish dishes than in the vegetarian ones!. Certainly my weight is much lower now than it was when I only ate vegetarian food (although I concede that there may also be other reasons for that)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was raised as a vegetarian, and later became vegan out of my own personal choice and have never eaten meat, and never would!. I have lots of vegetarian family and friends and don't know of anyone who has reverted to eating meat!.

Im sure it happens sometimes, but not that I have ever known personally!.

There is nothing or no one that would ever convince me to eat meat, there is just no way :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

As ugly demonstrated, they just make up lame and false excuses so they can eat meat again!.!.!.I shouldn't really talk, I've only been a vegetarian for 4 months or so, but I have a friend who used to be a veggie for a few years!.!.!.He tells me that it's all pointless and all this false crap that I hope I never buy into!.!.!.I guess we give into our desires and just try to justify our wrongdoings!.!.!.He's even made the argument that it's a proven fact vegetarians and vegans live shorter lives, when it's obviously just the opposite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

depends!. If you were raised to not eat meat it would probobley come naturally, but if you choose to eat meat after eating meat for a number of years then theres a good chance you might go back!. I depends on your perserverance, self assurance, and willingness to stop eating meat and fish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should really do some research so you won't sound stupider than your sources!.

I Will never go back to eating meat or anything that comes from animals, I will honestly puke if I ever eat it!. Its gross!!! I guess some people have there reasons, and I would like to hear them!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's possible pressure from family or friends who are not vegetarian!.

Poor diet planning or lack of knowledge of vegetarian nutrition causing anemia!.

Some rely too much on processed soy foods which can be pricey!. They may not be able to plan a proper vegetarian diet without these products so convert back!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no idea!.
they probably "felt" their body was lacking protein,
which translates to "i'm an idiot and got annoyed w/ people asking me why i didnt eat meat and i'm too dumb to tell them!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

I read that Drew Barrymore is back to eating meat which is an example of this!. I'm not sure how long she was vegan or vegetarian!. I am the opposite trying to not eat meat!!!!!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Personal choice!. Some finally just give in to the urge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have been vegan for 22 years and I do not know of one vegetarian that went back to meat eating!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Perhaps they decided that they had been depriving themselves for the wrong reasons!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

people eating burgers and steaks everywhere, it is tempting after awhile i guess!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

once a fortnite i eat fish, but thats coz i aint a good cook, veggies are nice peopleWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm never giving up this!. Vegetarianism is my life and always will be!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd imagine they were protein deficient, and eventually realized how it was affecting their health!. I'm not suggesting you can't be a healthy vegetarian, however, unless you eat meat and eggs, it is difficult to provide your body with an adequate supply of protein!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i was pregnant and frekin hungry all the time!. i miss being veggie so bad, but it takes a lot of timing to prep my meals!. also my parents who were kind enough to let me move back in with them and my daughter find it very hard to make 3 seperate meals!. flesh is gross though, i cant think about it when i eat it or i pukeWww@FoodAQ@Com

if somethings already dead (like in the restraunt theyve already killed it) then why not just eat it!. Plus animals eat other animals!. So we should all eat meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They were hungry obviously!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
