A question about vegan and vegetarian foods.?!
I am not veg or vegan, but am trying to cut meat products out of my diet!. I am also pregnant and have a major craving for vegetables, especially spinach, and I have never voluntarily eaten spinach in my life!. Anyway the cravings are healthy I know, but I need some ideas for variety!. I mostly only want to eat fruits and veggies, but I need to know how to be healthy about it for my baby!. Any help is much welcome!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a pregnant vegan in the UK!. No midwife or doctor has told me that there are any issues apart from Calcium which i am taking supplements for!. I am also taking pregnacare multivit and mineral but then all the people i know who eat meat are also doing so! I have had no cravings/morning sickness/any other issues!.
If you eat a portion of nuts or beans a day and 4 portions of rice or quinoa a week you will get all your protein needs!. You can eat more if you wish!. Porridge/oatmeal has the highest protein of all cereals!.
try to eat a rainbow of fruit and veg (more veg than fruit if possible) a day!. 2 portions of fruits and 5+ veg!. white - onions, garlic, leeks; red - peppers, tomatoes, orange - satsumas, carrots, butternut squash, pumpkin; yellow - swede, peppers; green - spinach, peas, cabbage, kale; blue/purple - blueberries, blackberries, aubergine, red cabbage!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Its not good to cut out on meat during a pregnancy!. It can create harm to the fetus if they don't recieve the right nutrients like protein found in meat!. If you can eat it in small moderation and substitute peanut butter and beans when you don't eat the meat!. But Always talk to you OB before changing your diet during a pregnancy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't think that you should try and cut the meat products right now that your pregnant!. Maybe go to a doctor!?!? So they can tell you what veggies and fruits you need to "mix-and-match" to get the nutrients you need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think you should only cut down on the red meat!.
Other then that just have healthy foods!.
ex!. Chicken
Carrots
any types of Salad
Apples
