Question: Foods that cause constipation!?
I recently became vegan and I feel like I have to go diarrhea everyday!. Should I consume more carbs!?!? (I don't want to gain weight though!.!.!.) And I don't want to eat less vegetables since I don't want to jeopardize my health!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your body has to adapt to the dietary change so this is not uncommon!. The best thing to do is to make sure you are getting enough servings of grains and rice to offset the veggies (which are predominantly water - thus the diarrhea)!. You need something to help absorb the excess water going through the intestinal tract as well as balancing the type of fiber you are getting!.

You need to make sure to get enough of both soluable and insoluable fiber!. One absorbs more fluid and passes more slowly through the intestinal tract (soluable)!. The other passes through more quickly helping to clear things out (insoluable)!. This is an over-simplified explanation !.!.!. I would recommend doing more research so you can see what you might need to add or change in order to help you get this problem cleared up!.

You don't want to cause constipation, because true constipation is very painful and can cause colon cancer!. What you probably want is to have a firmer stool!. Try eating bananas, they are known to regulate the bowels!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ya, but you could try eating bananas, potatoes, crackers, beans, rice, vegetable soups (avoid tomatoes)!. Hope I helped! :)
