Question: What would you like to ask!?Flax seeds are full of nutrition but how much should I take and how!?
Basically I have a bag of it and I have a level tea spoon of the stuff each day (like most people would take cod liver oil!)!. I am wondering how much this benefit this really has (I suspect it is good to a small extent but is not contributing significantly to my nutritional intake)!.

If this is the case how much should I be taking and how!?

I am vegetarian by the way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2 TBLS a day is good!. Try 1 TBLS in oatmeal in the morning!. 1 TBLS sprinkled over a salad is also very good!. Cold-Milled Organic Flax Seed Powder is a good substitute and will blend in rather nicely with soy milk if you prefer to drink it!. also Organic Flax Seed Oil is one of the best ways to get the nutritional value!. 1 TBLS followed by soy milk is how I take it!. Try a flavored soy milk if you prefer!. Can also be used on a salad w/ vinegar!. Excellent source of Omega 3s & Omega 6s!. The full benefits can take a couple of months!. Keep with it!. Glad to see you're taking care of yourselfWww@FoodAQ@Com

Take a teaspoon of flaxseed and put it in a bowl and cover just over with water until a little bit soggy!.
Cover the bowl with cling wrap and leave for 12-24 hours!.
Then eat it with cereal!.
That's the ebest way to absorb the nutrients since the water has allowed it too be released!.
Alternaltvely you can grind it in a offee machine!.
Eating without doing either of the two will just make you poop from the fiber but offer little to no other nutritional value!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ground into a powder would make it a whole lot easier to absorb the goodness!. You could make your own LSA mix to sprinkle on cereal or salads or wherever, or to add when cooking or baking!. I often add it when making porridge!. LSA = Linseed (aka flax seed), Sunflower seed, Almond!. You can buy it already ground and mixed, but I suspect grinding your own would work out a tad cheaper!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually put a tablespoon into orange juice(the pulpy kind)!. If the beverage is too liquidy, the ground flax will just fall to the bottom!. The box I have says that a serving is two tablespoons(maybe too much at one time), so just a teaspoon might not do you much!.

EDIT/ADD: A teaspoon of golden flax would be a little over 430 mg omega-3 versus 1300 mg in a tablespoon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bake yourself some nice bread rolls:

and mix the flax seeds with the dough!.

This way you will still look forward to eating flax seeds in half a year, while spoonfuls of even the most healthy ingredients sooner or later kill the appetite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Easy ways to take them are to bake with them!. I use ground flax seeds or flax meal to bake with!. They are easy to add to pancake batter or you can use them to make muffins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can buy flax seed oil and use it in your cooking if you don't feel like eating seeds!. Alternatively sprinkle them over a salad or towards the end of a stir fry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
