Answers:
Chicken eggs that are for sale are unfertilized!. Meaning there is no life in the egg!. In order for a fish to lay eggs the eggs must be fertilized meaning there is animals life inside!. The only common fish eggs i can think of are sturgeon, and i can tell you that the process in which they get those eggs is truly awful!. They take these fish out of the water which can easily be 10+ feet in length, then they hang them up and cut through their stomachs to extract the eggs and toss the fish back in the water to slowly die!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't eat either type of egg (nor duck egg, nor quail egg, nor goose egg, nor any other you can come up with)!.

I think the killing of the fish to extract the eggs would only be one part of the reason!. Another likely reason is simply that caviar is one of those things which are described as "acquired tastes" - in other words, they taste and smell revolting to the vast majority of people!. Add onto those reasons the fact that it is also quite prohibitively priced!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegetarian and I have never even considered the question!. Finding fish eggs would naturally be a big problem!.

I would not know what to do next!. In western culture that I'm a part of, it's just not very common!. However , being a vegetarian is so much work that inviting another food to the group and seeking out the information on it is perhaps more than most vegetarians want to add to their list of foods to partake of!.

Everything said was drawn from more than 20 years as an active vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegitarian and I try to avoid eating all dairy, but some foods I eat cometain egg-whites and milk and such!. I personally don't have a problem with eating fish eggs, I just find it gross for some reason!.

I mean look:

I love sushi but that is gross!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You don't have to kill a bird to get her eggs, but you have to kill a fish to get her eggs!. The only way to get a fishes eggs without killing her would be to keep her in a tank and watch for when she lays her eggs and collect them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

a lot of things omni-lacto-vegetarians do confuse me!.!.!.

chickens that produce eggs in factory farms suffer!.!. do some research if you dont know this already!.

to me, taking a chickens egg and taking a fishes egg is on the same level!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, you have to kill an animal either way to get eggs!.
Chickens just go through hell for a few years before they are slaughtered for meat!. Fish are just killed and have the eggs removed!.
Both hurt animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I watched Gordon Ramsey pick a fish and he actually cut it open just to get the caviar!. It was disgusting, the look of sheer happiness on his face when he cut the fish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cause fish eggs are gross!. One of the biggest perks of being a vegetarian is a great excuse not to eat unpleasant animal products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's because they have to catch and kill the fish before they can take to roe (Eggs)

Hens lay eggs naturaly so don't need to be killed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

have to kill fish to get eggs!. dont have to kill chickens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have to kill fish to get the eggs, you don't kill chickens they just lay eggsWww@FoodAQ@Com
