Okay, so I recently stopped being a vegetarian?!

Question: Okay, so I recently stopped being a vegetarian!?
I had previously not eaten meat in over three years, but at a Christmas dinner I broke down and tried some ham!. It was sooo good! Like, Godly almost!. Since then I've been eating it off and on!. But now that I got the taste for it back, what can I do to resist the temptation!? I don't want to stay an omnivore, I want to go back to being a vegetarian but I'm suddenly finding it very hard!. Any tips for making meat less appetizing!?

And random question: has anyone else "cheated" on their vegetarian diet!? And if so do you now feel guilty about it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I think it really depends on what your reasons for becoming a vegetarian in the first place are!. Did you do it because you were worried about animal welfare!? Or for nutritional/health reasons!? Whatever made you choose this lifestyle may or may not still be relevant to you now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oh I know what you mean about it tasting "Godly" I started eating meat again like 2 months ago and that first bite of chicken was soooo good, I couldn't stop eating it!. I've been eating meat again ever since, although I do prefer to get the organic or fresh from a local butcher shop!. It tastes way better than I ever remember, I don't think you should go back, you should not feel like you are depriving yourself just to stick to a lifestyle choice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can try something that is ham flavored, bacon flavored, BBQ flavored, etc!. To make meat less appetizing you can go onto peta2!.com you may not be a supporter but it will show you some disgusting stuff behind meat products, and no i have never "cheated' on a vegetarian diet but i only been one for a year, and proud of it =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have been a vegetarian for two years and have never "cheated"!.
Making meat less appetizing is very simple for me, I just look at pictures of factory farms and remember the torture that those animals had to go through to end up on someone's dinner plate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, I haven't cheated on my veganism!.

The only time I get cravings is when I don't eat properly!. If you actually know what a nutrient is and know how to eat, you should have all cravings eliminated completely!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians are still omnivores to!.
No because its really really gross to me to see that!.!.!.just ickey and If i ate it, I would probably puke!. It would make me gag because of where it comes from!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

!?!?!?!!!?!!?!!!!?!?!!!!

(sighs)

To resist temptation you have to stop thinking of yourself and you should need to ask us about it!. Theres nothing you can do but stop, just stop!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suppose you could over-salt it or something!. It would probably be easier to fill up on vegetarian items, or to avoid buying meat altogether!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I read somewhere that to stop eating meat, try looking into the eyes of a cow then eat a hamburger!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I cheated like that, after 3 years as well!. I stayed eating meat though i couldnt go back for financial reasons!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

!.yea i did when i first started!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vividly picture the animal you are eating in live form, and the moment it is slaughtered!.!.imagine if you were the animal and how you would feel, the pain, fear, etc!. If you can't picture it, go to the PETA website!. Thats enough to take away your appetite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
