To be Veggie, or not to be?!
It just kind of hit me recently, the fact I am eating sentient beings on a daily base, animals killed simply for my food!.
Of course, I have been eating it for as long as I can remember so obviously I had no objections to it early on in life but now, thinking over it, it seems wrong!.
Don't get me wrong, meat can tastes good, very good!. I just think, morally it is wrong!.
I see the main advantages that I won't be wrestling with my morals, and in my mind, I will be doing the right thing!. On the other hand, disadvantages may include me turning into a smug, pretentious ****, and missing out on a lot of great taste!.
Can anyone offer me advice!? Anyone who has a view on either side of this debate, or had thought about this topic before, help me out please :]Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi,
Maggie is wrong, eating meat is not healthy, if you don't trust me check out the American Heart foundation!.
Being vegetarian is not an issue about who is pretentious, as people will be pretentious if they eat meat or not!. Being vegetarian is normally for two reasons, the one you said above about ethics and the other is health!. The average persons diet contains way too much fat, but we don't consider the chemicals and antibiotics that go into the production of meat!. If you didn't care about the animals a good reason to give up meat is if you care about yourself!.
Don't worry if you think giving up meat can be tough if you like the taste, I think 99% of vegetarians would agree that it tastes good, but after some time the idea of eating something that is dead is enough to put you off the taste!. I wouldn't eat cockroaches even if they tasted good see what I mean!? ;)
Good luck with you endevour, but don't let anyone tell you what do to it has to be your own choice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can get full protein from plants, meat is a full protein foods, but if you combine certain plants then you can get complete protein, it is just a little more effort, but all worth it for the animals!

My opinion is that all life has value!. Something must die for me to survive!. As long as I am aware of that fact and am thankful for what I receive I can live with my choice of a meat inclusive diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
After a few years you will be unable to believe that you ever ate meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah, here's my advice:
1!. Being a veggie doesn't make you a smug, pretentious **** the same way playing Dungeons and Dragons doesn't meant you'll kill yourself when your character dies!. People who already have these mental characteristics enact them!. Do you honestly believe only veggies can be smug, pretentious cocks!? I've met many an omnivore who fits the bill!.
2!. If you're afraid of missing out on a lot of great taste, then my friend you are a piss-poor cook!. All my vegan dishes have omnivore approval because I know how to use my ingredients!. If it's not natural to you, get yourself a cookbook!.
P!.S!. Unlike what Maggie M said, there are non-meat proteins that are complete!. That's why bodybuilders practically live off of eggs and whey (a dairy product)!. In addition, quinoa, soy (choose fermented to avoid health issues), amaranth, hemp seed, and avocado are all complete proteins!.
If you're new to the area, Maggie M is not only a troll, but a terribly uneducated one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's a no-brainer!.
Be vegetarian, but not because I say so!.
You don't need anyone to tell you what to do, you decide!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the choice is up to you - in all aspects!. you can choose to be vegetarian, or even vegan, or continue eating meats and other animal products!. you can become a vegetarian or vegan and not be pretentious as well!.
you choose how you want to educate yourself!. there are many resources to see how animals are treated & slaughtered!. you might want to educate yourself more on the health side - what pesticides, hormones, and other medicinal treatments the animals get and how they effect you!.
people can tell you what to do and what to read, but in the end it is up to you what you do and how you act!. just make sure that the when you do learn about these things you make sure that your source is unbiased and independent!.
!.!.!.and as a vegan - i can still get complete nutrition, it's not that hard!. B12 is one of the "hardest" nutrients for vegans to get - and that's easily remedied with nutritional yeast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely stay a meat eater!. If you want to go all hippie on the world then just start recycling or something!. You can eat meat and still be healthy!. It's actually healthier than being vegetarian because you get complete proteins which aren't available in any non meat source!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
