Is romaine lettuce considered roughage?!

Question: Is romaine lettuce considered roughage!?
Answers:
Roughage (fibre) is the walls of the plant cell so yes it does have roughage in but you need to eat quite a lot (relative to, eg, wholegrain cereal, pulses or dried fruit) because of the high water content which 'dilutes' the roughage down!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it is considered a roughage!. It is a darker green lettuce than regular iceberg and therefore a healthier choice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
