Unless you're about to get into something competitive, just follow this general rule:

DIET
Eat 4-6 small meals each day consisting of lean protein and natural carbs!. Most vegan proteins will be lean protein, like legumes and grains, with other complete protein sources coming from avocado!. You can also get protein from nuts!. Stop when you're full!.

EXERCISE
Do this regularly, weight training and cardio!.

That's it!. It only gets to be rocket science when you're interested in walking on stage to compete!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need to make a study of how to get complete proteins from plant sources!. Most vegans also require a B vitamin supplement!.

Complete proteins from plant sources:
- paired legumes and grains, 1:3; this would include beans and rice, beans and corn, lentils and rice
- quinoa is a complete protein by itself, including lots of lysine, the amino acid that's one of the more difficult for vegans to get!.

Soy is popular, and while it contains a lot of protein, it does not contain complete protein!. Too much can also cause an allergic reaction over time, so don't overdo it!.

Beyond that I'm not too sure (I'm not an expert and only a former vegetarian)!. But you need to make a study of getting balanced nutrition or you will ruin your health!. It will take some time to do!. You're living off your reserves right now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ive been vegan about 6 months and i put on about 2 stone at first hahaa
but now ive lost it again from going to the gyyyyym

being vegan makes you think alot more about what your eating
and going into holland and barrat or your local health food shop and finding a range of ezxciting new vegan foods to try, certaintly helps you put on weight hahaha

but just be careful not to substitue non vegan foods for too much junk food (like gingernuts! hehe)

i try to eat plenty or fruit and veg with lots of nuts and beans

also tofu is greaaaat and healthy !

me and my moooommmaaa made burgers out of onion, tomatoe puree, sweet chilli sauce, and lots of soybeans yesterday
they weree yummmyy

besat advice is to google it, go on vegetarian sites, viva vvf veg etc
and have fun :D xxxxxxxxxxxWww@FoodAQ@Com

Legumes are a good source of protein (lentils, beans) as well as some grains!. Soy is popular but not as great a source, because many soy products are loaded in calories, and high in fat!. also, beware of processed soy items, tvp, or 'meatless' items made to replace meat; they usually contain some form of dairy!. If you are worried about protein consumption right now try a soy protein powder!. It is also a good idea to be taking a multi vitamin, until you properly construct your diet!.
For the long term, design a diet with natural protein sources, it is better for you!. Check the link in source for a good planning guide!.
