Can chinese brown sauce be made with vegetable broth?!


Question: Can chinese brown sauce be made with vegetable broth!?
I loved the chinese brown sauce used in chicken and broccoli but i am no longer eating meat so i cannot use beef broth for the recipe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a former chef and yes it can, and they make a vegetarain oyster sauce with shiitake mushroom not oysters, just saute some onions, garlic and ginger add you veg broth, soya sauce, sugar and thicken it with cornstarch or tapioca starch like the restaurants, and sprinkle a bit of sesame oil in at the end for flavour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it willprobably taste a little bit different, but you can substitute vegetable broth for meat broth in any recipe!.
