A question for the veggies who eat Quorn!?!
If you don't like the taste of murder, why do you like something meant to replicate the taste of it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
The veggies will tell you "because we can", which is a kop out!. Quorn, they say, is an alternative to meat!. Fine!. They dont want to eat meat and thats great, but why call a tasteless lump of nothing "a Quorn chicken dipper"!? Why a Quorn sausage!? A quorn burger!? Why not just call it a bowl of quorn!. Its not a beef or pork sausage, its not a beefburgeror a bit of chicken and Quorn mince is not mince!. Its MINCED Quorn!. Veggies, by all means tuck into your favourite bowl of nutritionless nonsense but its not a meat replacement!. Using your argument, a banana could be called a meat replacement!. Remember Quorn is low in calories, low in fat, low in salt and has no added sugar which equals low in taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't know, if you can give me the 'taste' without the murder then more power to you!.
Why is this even an issue though!? There are products sold everywhere that imitate others to accomplish a goal!. Lactose-free milk for those who are lactose intolerant, imitation crab meat for those who are too poor to afford it, alcohol-free beer for those who like the flavor of beer but don't want the alcohol!.
Where is the problem!? These products are designed to meet a need, if someone would like a product that behaves like meat but doesn't actually come from an animal so be it!.
Unless you are against options and alternatives!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Quorn tastes so vile you can eat it without the slightest guilt whatsoever!.
I have mine flown in first class from South America where it is grown on land reclaimed from an Amazon nature reserve, and picked by orphans who are whipped constantly by a fascist military junta!.
Well, you need a bit of middle class guilt now and then!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, to be honest I think vegetarians who used to be meat eaters might find it hard to switch so suddenly from meat!. If Quorn has a similar texture to meat and it tastes good and you can use it as a good substitute in Lasagna, Curries or Burgers then why not!? Plus it gives us more variety or choice!. I don't have a guilty conscience as I became a vegetarian so that I didn't have to eat animals any more!. If I eat Quorn I'm not harming any animals!.!.!.so what's the problem!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Because we were all raised on meat and sometimes we crave the texture of meat that are in our old time favorite dishes!. Meat substitutes are just transitional food for vegetarians to stay vegetarian!. These meatless products are "lesser of the evil"!. I would rather eat meat substitutes than meat any day!. Although, only eat these products sparingly, they can be very fattening if consumed daily!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You are making the assumption that we all don't like the taste!. If I eat a vegan Boca Burger rather than a real one, no one gets their throat slit!.
Same deal with people who wear faux fur, pleather, ultrasuede, satin(as opposed to silk), etc!. etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its not just the fact that its the taste, for me its the fact that its an actual animal!.
I mean I like meat but I dont eat it because of what it is,by that meaning an animal!.
If that makes sense bit hard to explain!.
And I do eat quorn but it doesnt all really taste of meat at all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because we think it tastes good and it doesn't harm anything to harvest it!. But you knew that, didn't you!? Let me ask you seriously, have you tried stamp-collecting!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Personally I only tried quorn once and was violently sick!. Did some research and guess what!.!.!.!.

I never went off the taste of meat, I just didn't like the fact that I was contributing to the suffering and death millions of animals go through all over the world!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I find Quorn soo much nicer than meat!. It just tastes so much better and it also makes it taste nicer knowing that what I've eaten hasn't been slaughtered for me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
my vegetarianism has nothing whatsoever to do with taste or texture!.
I didn't kill or harm any animals to eat a meat substitute!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do! I eat a proper steak at least once a week, but prefer to use Quorn day to day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
because its not actually killing something!. duhWww@FoodAQ@Com
Because they can OK and it doesn't replicate anything it is an alternative, get it right dude;
Quorn is the leading brand of mycoprotein food product in the UK and a leading brand elsewhere!. Mycoprotein is a generic term for protein-rich foodstuffs made from processed edible fungus!.
Quorn is produced as both a cooking ingredient and a range of ready meals!. Quorn is sold (largely in Europe but also in other parts of the world) as a healthy food and an alternative to meat, especially for vegetarians!. As it uses egg white as a binder, it is not suitable for vegans!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
