But dairy and eggs don't actually harm animals, right? ?!
I just wanted to ask a question that many people are unsure of, and then answer it!.
In your answers can you answer how you feel about it!. I agree!. I think it is a great answer to a question that is always asked!.

I am not sure if I have ever heard a statement more false!. There are so many reasons that this statement just doesn't add up!.
1!. I don't know which is worse, being brought into the world solely for slaughter or being brought into the world to be used for your milk/eggs and then slaughtered!. Put very simply, when a dairy cow can no longer produce milk, she is slaughtered and made into cheap beef!. Same with chickens!. When they no longer lay eggs, they are slaughtered!. Plain and simple!. This applies to organic, free-range, and factory farmed!.
2!. One word - Veal!. I assume that any one reading this would know what veal is, but if not I will explain it to you!. In order to produce milk, a cow must give birth (no, cows aren't just milk machines, they give milk for the same reasons humans do)!. If the cow gives birth to a female, that female is raised to also produce milk!. If it gives birth to a male, that bull is raised for veal!. This means that the calf is confined to a crate just big enough for him to stand up and turn around!. He is given formula to ensure that he doesn't build up too much muscle!. While we take the milk intended for him!. No thanks!.
3!. Related to Number 2 (sort of)!. When male chicks are born in a layer house, they have no economic value!. They are often ground up alive, suffocated, or simply thrown in a dumpster!. Reading this statement makes my stomach turn!.
4!. It greatly decreases the lifespan of the animal!. A cow can live to be well into it's thirties!. The average age of a dairy cow is 5!.
5!. Its cruel!. In other words, we do not need these products to survive and forcing cow/chicken to live in such horrible conditions simply because we like the way something tastes is wrong!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'vee another point for you :)
6!. Who knows what a mother cows goes through emotionally have carried her young for months only to have the baby torn away from her!.
Try to imagine that from a humans perspective if you have no thought for other creatures!. A young woman hold a child in her stomach for 9 months and then a hoard comes and steals the baby away and tortures him/her!. The woman is moved to a dank, dark chamber in chains and milked dry everyday until she dies aged 30!.
To the poster above me - psst, have you heard of organic farming!. Idiot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes all of that is true, i'd also like to add that animals being used for their milk/eggs don't live in great conditions either!.
you might want to actually ask a question though, just so this isn't violating rules!.
chrissi k: how is that ruining it for you!? it is the truth if you don't like it than don't be part of what makes it true!. i also don't think she is really pushing this on you, she didn't post "hey all meat eaters read" you read it and could have stopped at any point!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pssst!. I'll tell you a little secret!. Where do you think they got the fertilizer to fertilize your veggies and your cotton!? From dairy farms and feed lots!. Don't get me wrong, I agree that there are a lot of cruel things going on out there, but there will always be a demand for animal products no matter what!. I think what needs to happen is there needs to be some changes made in the way we raise ans slaughter animals!. It doesn't HAVE to be cruel!Www@FoodAQ@Com
IDK about cows-- I've heard milking machines hurt them-- but the chickens on our farm were perfectly content to run around laying eggs everywhere!. They do it anyway and try to hide them from you even if they're not fertilized!. If you don't hunt them out and eat them they just go to waste or hatch into more damn chickens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
wow!.!.!.seems like people are getting a bit defensive!.
my question to all of these answers is!.!.!.you think it's right just because you do it!?
in reality you know it's wrong!. ANIMALS ARE ANIMALS!.
i don't know if you realize this!.!.
but if it's given the opportunity to breath, feel, and live, why on earth would you ever take that away!?
sorry that we're trying to protect these animals!.!.!.you don't have to hate on us!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I try not to worry about such petty stuff!. Think everyone should just eat their fruits and veggies and lean protein and worry about more important things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
This is a rant!. Reported!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The animals of the earth are mans domain to do with as he wishes!. This being said these creatures should stillbe treated with respect!. Dairy cows and beef cattle are different breeds created for their different purposes!. Dairy cattle are not used as cheep beef!. They taste terrible because they are not raised to be eaten!. Are we to raise and care for cattle just for propagating the species then!? They wold probably die out if we did not use them!. Everything you do by just existing impacts other wildlife!. The fields they plowed to raise your organic vegetables displaced some sort of cute furry creature or even killed it!. It is your personal choise to live your lifestyle in the manner that you have chosen!. Do not cloak it in some sort of morality and push it on the rest of us with affectations of a world tragedy!. I eat a mainly vegetarian lifestyle with occasional meat from wild game that I killed!. I do it because it is healthier for me and not for some other BS reasons!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
