How do I get my parents to let me go vegan?!
I'm a semi-vegetarian right now, which means I just don't eat red meat!.!.!. but, I went to peta2!.com and read the "What They Never Told You" thing!.!.!. and it sickened me horribly!. I never want to eat an animal product again!. I just ate dinner, we had pizza, and my step dad had chicken wings, and all I could see, was chicken's heads being ripped off so people could write graffiti with their blood, and people squeezing a chicken so hard it pooped on another chicken!.!.!. but my parents are already annoyed by me being a semi-vegetarian, and I don't know how I could get them to let me go completely vegan!. And I'm only fourteen, I can't just say, "I can pay for it all!."!.!.!. so, does anyone have any ideas as to convincing arguments!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should read a little more into it!. If the main reason you want to be vegan is because of how animals are treated there are at least dairy products produced from free grazing animals!. Some of the 'natural' and 'organic' dairy products are OK if you're interested in how the animals are treated!. You might want to gather some more information!.
On the other hand!.!.!. these products are generally more expensive!.
As far as explaining to your parents!.!.!. That depends completely on how their personalities and beliefs!. I know my parents were always annoyed with my eating habits!.!.!. it was basically a fight until I was old enough to leave (different reasons!.!.!. I'm just extremely picky!.!.!. it's ridiculous :P)
Gather some information!. If you're really passionate about it gather some visual aids!. :P I'd say presenting visual aids right before dinner could help!. This is only after you've asked nicely of course!. :PWww@FoodAQ@Com

First off, find more credible sources than PETA for your research, they lie, no debate!.
Get information from doctors and dietitian's and approach your parents with a well thought out plan and diet and tell them you'll get monitored by a doctor monthly!.
In the beginning your going to get sick, your trying to turn a carnivore into an herbivore, so until your past that stage have a doctor monitor you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Learn to cook! I did at a young age because I went veg, and now I'm a better cook because of it!. Your parents shouldn't worry about paying for your new diet unless you plan on eating ALL fake meat products!. Fresh vegetables, fruits, beans, pastas, and breads are a helluvalot cheaper than meat!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Its not a good idea, in my opinion to go vegan!. FYI Peta has also been labeled as a terrorist group by some!. Make sure you read all sides of the issue equally!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
PETA is not a terrorist group
I would never belong to a terrorist groupWww@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, PETA is pretty much propaganda!. Some of the stuff they say on there is true, but they really do go out of their way to show only the really disgusting stuff!.
Second, you going vegan, especially if you don't have all the info and can't get ahold of the food yourself, is going to be really difficult on your family!. It would be different if you had a job and a license, if you could buy and prepare your own food!.!.!.but you can't!. That really leaves it up to your parents to try to track down an entire vegan diet for you!. Yes, they're your parents!.!.!.but they're not the ones going vegan!.
Last but not least!.!.!.talk to your doctor and a nutritionist before you go vegan!. There is a lot you need to know and be responsible for, things that can make you extremely sick if you don't pay attention to them!. Veganism is a very healthy lifestyle IF it's done correctly!. Please don't make a decision of that magnitude solely off a PETA video!.
Edit - I'm not saying to eat meat, my son and I are both veg!. I'm only stating the warning because although veganism can be very healthy, it is a pretty radical life change - one that can be difficult to transition to!. If your parents aren't on board and you're not old enough to get what you need yourself, you're stuck with a pretty limited diet!.!.!.which can lead to some really bad health consequences!.
I would really say to go vegetarian and get a good handle on that!. Once you're a bit older, look into going vegan!. Take baby steps - it's the easiest and healthiest way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

don't go vegan completely!.!.try to take some time to first go fully vegetarian!.!.then i think once you get the hang of it, (try two weeks) then you should slowly cut out dairy!.
as for your parents, tell them to suck it up!. you're not doing anything harmful!.!.they are!. actually!.!.!.they're being arrogant and narrow minded!.!.no offense!. i'm not saying they ARE, i'm just saying it's how they view all of this!.
i've been veg for two years and my family still gives me hell for it!.!.i was 95% vegan all last year and i recently started having things with dairy (i still don't drink milk or eat eggs, though) and my mom and my friend think that a vegetarian is the same thing as a vegan and my friend calls me a hypocrite!.!.!.i want to punch her in the face so bad, haha!.
well the most i can tell you is to go grocery shopping with her!.
you're not doing drugs
you're not drinking
so what's so wrong about it!?
it's not unhealthy!.!.if they really think it is, then buy a multivitamin with NO gelatin in it (so no one a day, etc!.)
hope that helped!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
