Because I see it that all lives are equal to mine, bees included!. Okay, maybe people think I'm weird by thinking that but it just shows how little people value life!.
Yes, bees can die in the harvesting process of honey(because even the most careful beekeeper cannot avoid squishing them at times)!. I'm not quite sure how often this occurs as I have never, well!.!.!. kept bees!. And their wings!.!.!. the queen often gets hers removed so that she cannot leave the hive(and the others would follow), and the bees often get their wings blown off in the smoking process!.
Beekeepers often kill them to heighten profits!. The queen once a year often, or the whole hive depending on the beekeeper(not always, but often so in the commercial trade)!.
What else!.!.!. well, by simple definition, honey is from an animal seeing as it is insect vomit and bees are definitely not a plant, lol!.!.!. Sorry I think you asked for us not to talk about that!.
I think it's theft too(here again going back to my conventionally bizarre compassion for even the smallest living beings)!. Honey is made by the bees for THEM!. It's food to them, and their winter food source!. Which probably means more may die if they don't have anything to eat in the wintertime, unless the beekeeper gives them something(I have no idea!.!.!. here again, I've never been a beekeeper), which for some reason I doubt!.
Hope I explained this efficiently!. =]
Oh by the way I think it's really respectful when people do that, you know don't call themselves vegan only because of honey(where this theory came around that honey is vegan, i have no idea, maybe because it originated from flowers!.!.!.!?)!. People are always like, "Oh, close enough!.!.!.", you know!? It's irritating when they do that!. But thank you!.
*Sigh* PLEASE, people!.!.!. stop posting offensive and gross comments!. And no I am NOT some PETA slave!. Stereotypes get you nowhere!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

These are the same honey bees that are leased by fruit farmers to pollinate their crops!. Fruit farmers will agree that without the help pf honey bees, they will not be able to sustain the production level required to meet the fruit demands of consumers which includes vegans!. During the transport and mobilization of these hives, many are killed!. Much more than during an actual honey harvest because obviously, bees are not meant to travel in trucks over thousands of miles (from the south or midwest to as far away as California)!. Yet for some reason, this exploitation of honey bees seem to escape the principles of vegans who oppose honey consumption!. Why!? Because they have to eat their cruelty free meals and it is convenient to forget this fact for the sake of survival!. So they accuse omnivores of killing animals for the sake of their taste buds while hypocritically forgetting they are guilty of the same!.
To be fair, not all vegans oppose the consumption of honey just like some vegans do not oppose the ownership of animals as pets!. But you will come across fanatics whose only source of information is a website and PETA!. And these are the very ones who wil say, others are ignorant and they aren't!. Real informed people huh!? First poster case in point!. A teenager (and FYI teenagers ARE kids) who thinks she knows everything!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not eating honey is one reason I think some vegans ar crazy!. Humans and bees both benefit from honey production, including the commercial pollenating of about one third of our crops!. My opinion is if you don't eat honey then you should not be eating any foods pollenated by bees!. This means apples any many other foods are not vegan since they are pollenated by "slave bees"
In the wild most bee colonies have huge die offs in the winter but bee keepers work to keep them healthy over the cold times and give them replacement food for the honey they take!.
Unlike cows the honey is not used to feed the young, Bees make another product, called bee bread from pollen and honey to feed the grubs!. The honey harvested is for winter food!. Honey producers bring the bees to more flowers than could find from a non-mobile hive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that is a pretty ridiculous extreme! If you really want to take it to the limit, then vegetables are vegetarian either!. The earth is fertilized by the droppings of animals, and even the dead bodies of animals!. Air and water carry dead bacteria too -- including bacteria from dead animals!. You shouldn't cross certain limits because then there is no end to the lengths you can go!. It becomes meaningless!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i dont believe in using animals for any reason!. also, that honey is the bees, not mine, and i dont think i have the right to take it from that bee, just like cows milk belongs to the calf and i dont want to steal it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Because it's theft!.
The bees are tricked into making it for people!. They work hard at it and then we steal if for our taste buds!. It's not ours!. We should leave them alone!. Bees die from stinging bee keepers!. (It's rare, but does happen)!. Just leave them alone!. That's just my opinion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've seen vegans both for and against the use of honey!. This confuses me because it's exploitation without a doubt!. It's certainly not symbiotic!.
"many are killed in the honey harvesting process"--wrong!. Gotta get off that PETA you're taking!. Besides, why would killing bugs for produce harvest be acceptable then!?
Vegan4life--wrong much!? Spare me your tantrum, child!. Answer my question: "why would killing bugs for produce harvest be acceptable then!?"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

bee's arent harmed when gathering honey, no more are killed than you accidentally step on in the wild !. The smoking doesnt kill them it drives them away!. They come back !.!.relaxWww@FoodAQ@Com

No, you haven't!. What an absolutely ignorant answer!. Vegans do not eat any animal products!. If you do eat animal products, you are not a vegan!. If you don't believe me, why don't you just take a look at the definition of vegan!.

Well, bees have to be smoked out on most commercial bee farms, many are killed in the honey harvesting process and well, vegans are against animal exploitation and keeping bees just for the honey is exploitation, and I as a vegan am against that!.
