Hummus recipe, should dry chick peas be boiled to soften them up after hydration ?!

Question: Hummus recipe, should dry chick peas be boiled to soften them up after hydration !?
How long to soak them; and how much could they be boiled!. I soaked a cup of chick peas and they turned out rather chunky in the mix without boiling them to soften!.

Any helpful suggestions are appreciated!. Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Oh yeah, you have to cook them after soaking!. Canned chick peas are already cooked, quite inexpensive and a good alternative when making hummus!.

soak them overnight, no salt in the water, and change the water once before you simmer them for 45 to 60 minutes and they'll be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can use canned chickpeas (already cooked) or else you should boil them!. You can mash it up by hand (which will be a bit thicker) or if you put it all in a blender it will be smooth!.
