some people are just so ignorent
being a vegeterian does NOT make someone ill or pale
ANYONE can become ill or pale, there are many reasons why someone may be looking pale!. When I changed to a vegeterian I did lose weight, in most cases most people do lose weight going vegeterian, because meat is very high in fat, especially red meat!. Vegetables also have importent vitemens and nutrients meat does NOT have, sorry for being so up tight but its just the truth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you eat high fat (french fries, eggs, candy, mayonnaise), low fiber (beans, vegetables, fruits, whole grains) veg diet than you will gain weight, but if you eat a high-fiber (lots of fruits and vegetables), low-fat diet (very little junk food), you can easily lose weight!. receive adequate protein and then head to the gym to put on some muscle!.

You can preserve the taste of your "sacred" meat by buying some meat substitute burgers, and milk can be replaced with soy milk!. I use Earth Balance butter substitute in the place of butter and it tastes better, even more creamy, yet it's vegan!. You can purchase earth balance at your local health food storeWww@FoodAQ@Com

I lost about 15 pounds in the first couple weeks I was veggie (admittedly, I was a bit over weight!.!.) but because of stress lately, I've been eating comfort foods, and in the past 3 months gained back 10 pounds!.

It will make you thinner if you're out of shape, and lose a little weight, but don't expect to much!. And, if you don't eat healthy, you're going to gain the pounds back pretty dang fast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I lost a bit of weight when I first went veg!.

Not much, though!.

7 pounds perhaps!?

And the weight loss stopped fairly quickly!.

I know a girl who has been a vegetarian for almost a year, and it hasn't had any effect on her weight !. !. !. she is still as slightly overweight as she was before!.

But then, it depends on what you eat, just like with omnivores!. C:Www@FoodAQ@Com

When I went veg I lost 5 pounds in the first week!.
If you do it right, you gain it back as lean muscle!.!.!.
But I DID lose some fat, lmao!.
It made me feel healthier, too!.!.!.like when I drink too much tea and meditate, haha!. All cleansed!. A BUNCH of my friends decided to do it with me too [I signed up for this one month tester with PETA] so we all just did it together!. :]

I eventually had to go back to meat and I gained it all back, though!. :[

EDIT: To the answerer above me, CALORIES do not make one fat!. FAT makes one fat!. Calories are fuel!. You have to watch how many grams of fat you're consuming, mostly!. If you exercise, calories are not an issue!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not in MY experience, because i am a very healthy and strong meat eater!. But from the vegetarians i have observed!.!.!.!. definitely without a doubt they are sickly, frail, and usually very pale looking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you need to be careful to eat healthy, regardless of diet!.
meat in itself does not make you fat!. unless it is fried in grease or whatever, or if you eat a lot of it!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. I have three friends who became vegetarians because they thought it would be a good way to lose weight!. Three and a half years later, they are still overweight with one gaining even more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

nope because chocolate, cakes, candy and all that great granola, and yogurt products have calories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have found that going veggie makes people GAIN weight because they fall back on carbs carbs carbs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
