True vegetarians, i need your help?!
ok so i've been a vegetarian for not very long (4 months maybe!?)
ive never really liked meat at all but i used to eat it!.
but i want to be really serious and commited to it!.
so can you give me a list of common meat-less food/treats
that DO have animal product in them like GELATIN,
because i really dont want to innocently eat things and then find out they have animal product ingreadients in them!
thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That first answerer seems to be advertising for his website!. Weird!.
Well, anything that contains gelatin contains animal products!.!.!.so marshmallows, some diet yogurts, altoids, a lot of different candies (I always check non-chocolate candies' ingredients), jello!.
A lot of baking mixes contain lard! I know Jiffy Brand mixes do, I think Walmart "Great Value" brand!.!.!.some do, I think their version of Bisquick does!.
Someone on here mentioned that some cake frosting (I think they mentioned Walmart brand specifically) has animal fat in it!.
Some cheeses contain rennet, which is an animal product!.
Some side dish mixes, like preseasoned rice or noodle mixes contain chicken or beef broth!. I always check the ingredients of those!.
Some potato chips contain chicken fat! I think the baked ones are more likely to contain it!.
Salad dressings (specifically Caesar) and Worcestershire sauce sometimes contain anchovies!.
Those are the things I look out for the most!. It can be confusing, but eventually you get to learn which brands are ok, and which aren't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
