I'm not a vegetarian but...?!
I've always really respected people who are!. I hate hunting and I feel very strongly that the way animals are treated on farms nowadays is atrocious!. Oh!.!.!.and there's this girl I like who's a vegetarian and I think that the fact that she's a vegetarian is one of the hottest things I've ever heard!.
So I'm thinking of going vegetarian for her!. Honestly, it wouldn't be even nearly the craziest thing I've done for a girl!. But I have some issues!.
1!. Is it healthy!? I know that humans need the nutrients provided by meat!. That's why we eat it!. Are there adequate substitutes to keep me as healthy as I am now on a non vegetarian diet!? I live a pretty athletic lifestyle so that's an important issue with me!.
2!. My parents!. My dad is a strict anti vegetarian!. He thinks it's stupid and whenever the point comes up he very vehemently condemns it!. Now, if I were self sufficient that wouldn't be a problem for me!. But since he makes the money he decides what food is in the house!. I'm not really sure how I can get around that!.

And eat tons!. The cool thing is that these food are also rich in iron, calcium and other minerals!. The parents are always hard to deal with, but perhaps you should suggest it to him as a health issue!?
I choose a veg lifestyle because my family has a severe heart and cholesterol issues!. By staying away from meat all together I wasn't tempted by hamburgers, or fried chicken!. For a while I did get cravings, but these were easily satiated with other foods!.
Plus, as an avid skater, I found my endurance went through the roof after just a couple months!.

The whole argument is that soy isn't as good for you as people think!. Whether or not it's true soy is in nearly everything as it is and you don't need to eat it if you're vegetarian!.

As for your question, You should totally go veg! There aren't really any health effects, as long as you eat iron rich food like spinach!. Well Im a vegetarian and its not that bad!. Since I don't eat meat I take vitamins and I also take fish oil pills! So you could always take fish oil pills!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well, first of all congrats on going veggie! I'm a vegan teenage girl and the fact that any guy is a vegan or vegetarian is such a turn on, since so few guys are!. It proves that they care about others (animals) enough to sacrifice meat!

Over consumption of animal protien is directly linked with shorter life expectancy, increased cancer and heart disease risk, widespread obesity and diabetes, osteoporosis, kidney stress, and bad digestion, and breast cancer!. Furthermore, protein is made of amino acids, which are what our body uses!. So by consuming animal proteins our body breaks it down so that we can use the amino acids!. By consuming plant sources you're consuming the amino acids directly saving your body the process of breaking them down!. Virtually all plant sources contain protein so you're really at virtually no risk of deficiency assuming you don't forcefully starve yourself!.
Iron: There's Haem and non-Haem iron, (haem being found in meat) It makes absolutely no difference to the body of which one you consume, and a small serving of spinache has the more iron than a sirloin steak!.

There have been quite a few olympic athletes who've been vegetarian/ vegan, and vegetarian diet greatly benefits athletic preformance, as you have much less of gaining excess body weight!. (Complex carbs, which are found in exclusively in the vegetable kingdom, are according to the surgeon general, what creates the feeling of satiation)

First off; if you eat do your research and take the time to eat an adequate and nutritious vegetarian diet you will be much healthier than all the meat eaters!. So this means eating more than chips and grilled cheese sandwiches every day because you don't know what else to eat!.
Secondly, educate yourself, find answers to all your dads concerns about vegetarianism because believe me, there are plenty of good, logical comebacks for all of his reasons that it is stupid!.

well you could take multi vitamins!. meat now a days is packed with horomones which really isnt good!. about your dad, you should talk to him about ur views on it!. i mean whats right for him may not be right for other people and he shouldnt be saying its stupid!. either that or ask him if he can get healthier food in the house like fruits and veggies and just eat that, skipping the meat!. but really she might like you even if u arent a vegetarian!. ive dated people who arent, its not that bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
