i find it best to go to the store several times a week, so you are getting the freshest produce, which is what you mainly will buy!. co-ops usually have the best selection of what you need!. i like to have (always organic if possible) oranges for juicing in the morning, lettuces, tomatoes, avocados(extremely wonderful!!must have), sprouts, carrots(delish for juicing), and then if i have a recipe i want to try i go to the store and get stuff for it!. spices are good to have on hand and raw nuts should be purchased (organic of course) like raw cashews and walnuts almonds etc!. and need to be soaked!. but like i said in order to get the freshest, visit the store several times a week and you also will not be letting stuff go bad at home!. i am raw vegan and it works well for me!. oh yeah, and raw organic cold-pressed olive oil is great too! organic quinoa is great for sprouting if you need a grain!. fruits, vegetables, raw nuts are staples so always keep your eye out for your favorites!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
All of the food on Jem D's list plus lots of leafy greens - baby spinach, parsley, coriander, basil, lettuce, endive, kale, and even nettles (I jucie them!)!. If I can't get hold of fresh greens then seaweeds like nori and dulse are good too!. Oh and wheatgrass juice - but this is an acquired taste!
I tend to blend fruit and greens together to make green smoothies that are sweet, tasty, and quick and easy to make/eat!.
Best wishes,
amanda
