Does being vegan get harder?!

Question: Does being vegan get harder!?
Well, I haven't been vegan for very long, but so far I have found the diet very easy!. I was expecting to feel deprived, like I was sacrificing a lot, but really I've never felt healthier or happier!. I don't even miss my favorite dessert!.!.!. chocolate!!! I'm not too strict (I eat things processed on the same machines that process milk or eggs), but I'm not loose about it either!.

I've heard that becoming a vegan is really tough at first, and that it gets easier!.!.!. will it get even easier than this!? Whats the big deal!?

The only hard part is trying to get other people to understand and accept my choice!. And trying to find vegan personal care products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

for me i thought it was easy at first, then got a little harder, then it got easier you just have to remember why you started be one in the first place!. i think it just depends on what kind of person you are, if you are a person who makes a decision and stick with it all the way then veganism might not be that hard, but if your a person who chose being vegan as spur of the moment decision it might be harder!.
its hard resisting some foods sometimes for me but thats about it, i usually just go find something i like better!. i sure do miss my jelly bellies though!.
ps!. and the good thing about chocolate is there is replacements for it!. try carob chips!.

don't listen to banjo and sullivan he is wrong, yes B12 is essential, but it is found naturally in some yeast!. also you can find it in fortified foods!.
and yes complete protein is hard to find in vegan foods, thats why you mix different things together to make the complete protien!. which is really simple!. i would imagine you'd get tired of soy and quinoa if that was the only place you were getting your complete protein from!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Its good that you found it easy so far, it gets easier!. The reason for this is a detox process that occurs!. It's hard at first (for most) because there is still a reminisce of other foods in your body, causing cravings and leading the individual to acknowledge food addictions!. But it looks like you're not facing those issues, kudos!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I thought it would be hard as well but it's very easy!. I've been going out a lot and manage to veganize things!. I love this!! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hi,
I understand your choice!. I just want to add that we are omnivores for a reason!. There are many essential vitamins and minerals found in animal products that we desperately need and our body cannot produce!. Take B12 for example!. This is only found in animals with a beating heart!.

Vitamin B12 is the only B vitamin your body stores in quantity enough for three to five years!. It is vital for the production of healthy red blood cells, genetic DNA material, and for the proper function of the nervous system!. It helps prevent anemia and increases your energy!. To help your body get the most out of vitamin B12, you need to combine it with the mineral calcium during absorption!. This micronutrient promotes growth and increases appetite in children!.

Sources:

* Milk
* Pork
* Kidney
* Liver
* Shellfish
* Sardines
* Salmon
* Herring
* Cheese
* Egg yolk

Signs of Deficiency: Deficiency generally results from inability to absorb Bl2!.

* Pernicious anemia and nervous-system damage may produce problems walking and balancing, and nervousness!.
* Strict vegetarians may be at some risk for deficiency!.

I also want to add that COMPLETE proteins are difficult to find!. I don't know about you, but I get tired of soy and quinoa!. :)

I thought the same thing before I actually went vegan, but it turned out to be extremely easy!. I feel HEALTHIER and happier than I ever have!. If you're worried about B12 then take a supplement!. B12 is a vitamin that comes from the soil, so the only reason it's in animal products is because they eat grains and plants with soil on them!. That's why it's so hard to measure how much B12 is in different things, including vegetables (there IS some amount of B12 in fruits and veggies but it's impossible to know how much)!. I do not think being vegan will become harder, if anything it will just continue to get easier and become second nature!.

By the way!.!.!.YOU CAN STILL EAT CHOCOLATE!. Chocolate comes from the cocoa plant and it does not necessarily have animal ingredients in it!. Dark chocolate is vegan (check ingredients to be sure), it's only milk or white chocolate that isn't!.!.!.!.but it's nasty anyway in my opinion!. You can even find regular brownie mix in the grocery store that is vegan! Just replace the egg with 1/4 cup silken tofu and you'll have the most delicious, fudgey, chocolatey brownies ever!

No need to deprive yourself of chocolate :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Banjo and Sullivan is right about the B12!. I was vegetarian and mostly vegan for a few years (vegetarian for 10, mostly vegan for 2 or so) and I always got my blood checked every year!. For awhile it was fine (B12 can be stored for many years in your system) but if you aren't getting any B12 intake it will eventually go away!.!.!. and so the other year when I got my blood tested, I was found to be dangerously low in B12!. I was weak and anemic!. My iron was also low!. I wasn't even eating a bad diet - I love lentils, beans, spinach, etc, and ate them plenty!. Though I wasn't really getting proper B12 because I didn't eat B12 fortified foods (didn't like cereals) and wasn't eating a lot of dairy!.

So basically I had to take mega doses of B12 pills and iron pills for awhile before I decided I was sick of taking pills and went back to being an omnivore!.

The funny thing was, it was HARDER to go BACK to being omnivorous after being nearly vegan, than it was to turn vegetarian or vegan!. I had to deal with plenty of repulsion!.!.!. but now my taste buds have readjusted and I actually enjoy certain meats again, though I still can't stand beef, it's pretty disgusting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
