Can anyone prove this statement false? ?!
Or will I just have to accept the harsh reality that all my favorite Jello flavors and gummy candies come from the hides, hooves, and connective tissues of my favorite animals (mainly horses)!?
--->The gelatin that is the building block (collagen rendered from animal product) of Jell-O is so purified that the FDA doesn't regard it as a meat product!. <-----
REALLY!?!!?!!?!
I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but really!!? Horses!!?!!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Part of your statement is true!. The majority of it comes from pig skin, there are also cow hides and bones!. However it cannot be made from hooves of animals!.
As far as this statement being true or false :

I think even the FDA thinks the jury is out!. Please check out the second link reguarding Gelatin and the risk of BSE and CJD!. It appears that they are not entirely certain that the rogue protien that causes this could or could not end up in the Gelatin!. Doesn't sound "so purified"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gelatin comes from connective tissues, skin, bones, and some other parts of animals!. It's not a meat, because meat is the muscle of an animal, but it is indeed a slaughter by-product!. Pretty gross, whether it's "purified" or not!. I don't care much what the FDA says in any case!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
