Vegans, quick question on ethics?!
Ok, so I saw how they plan on growing some meat from stem cells in the future that would be comparable to some fairly simple cuts of chicken and beef!. Would you eat this stem cell meat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:

I'm a vegetarian, but in four years when I can move out of my parent's house I'm going to go vegan!.
I don't really know much about the whole stem cell thing!. I became a vegetarian because animals have such a horrible life and are killed in such cruel ways!. I might eat stem cell meat, if I knew for sure that there was no cruelty conected to it in any way!. But, I don't think that knowlage is really attainable, so I'd have to say that I'd be staying meat free!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not favor genetic modification or testing of animals!. So the thought of using their stem cells for this sort of Frankenstein effort would go totally against my ethics!.
I have family that eats meat!. While I may not agree with their choice to do so, the thought of them eating something that they are not even sure of the effects of is morally wrong!. It is nothing less than doing to humans what as a vegetarian/vegan complains of being done to animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Does that mean they wouldn't have to kill an animal to get it!? It solves the no-kill policy, but I think I would still be afraid to eat meat that was grown in a lab from stem cells!. There are better things to use stem cells for anyway, in my opinion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
This is an interesting question!. I do not allow meat in my home and do not eat meat myself!.
However if No animals were harmed to Make this , I would seriously think about making it for Guests who are meat eaters!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Personally no, that would be like taking a stem cell from a human growing meat and then eating it!. It's still icky!. Plus when this new meat first comes out it's bound to be very expensive and full of chemicals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I've read that stuff too!. Here are my two, albeit simplistic arguments:
1!. It's not natural!. We don't know the effects on digestion that this stuff would have!. And I doubt many people want to find out!.
2!. Still not as healthy as not eating meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No I would not!. They already grow flesh in labs, it's used for surgical repairs!. This is just another one of PETA's wacky ideas!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No, I would not eat it!.
They thoughts of eating any meat (regardless of source) does not appeal to me in any way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
