I love Japanese food. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find vegetarian Japanese recipes?!
Answers:
I am a former chef and worked in Japan and there are load, they eat a very veggie or vegan based diet, except for the fish and some meat, the Buddhist monks there eat a completely non animal diet, no animal product at all, Tofu and all the noodles are vegan, rice seaweed and there are hundreds of vegan recipes, you can eat many things and adapt others, just google or Yahoo search and type in the words Japanese Vegan recipes, you will find many sites and select your favourites!.

Haha, I'm in the same situation as you!. There are some vegetarian japanese cookbooks such as:
Japanese Vegetarian Cookbook: The Healthiest Cuisine in the World by Patricia Richfield
But, also for the most part you can just use meat substitues in most recipes, if your not sure what would make the best or a really tasty substitute you can ask here or see if there is a vegetarian version already on the web!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
