Calling all vegans.....?!

Question: Calling all vegans!.!.!.!.!.!?
I am a vegetarian, but the more I research, the closer I am to becoming a vegan!. At this point in my life it would be extremely difficult to become a full vegan, but I am cutting back on a lot of food and doing the best I can!. I've given up eggs, but what's the deal with dairy!? Don't cows need to be milked anyway!? If you will: "convince me to become a vegan"!. What are your reasons!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The situation of a cow that wouldn't mind being milked because it's recenlty born a calf and lives on a family farm is radically different from the situation of one living at a commercial dairy farm, crowded together with other cows, pumped with hormones, kept pregnant for its whole life, and then sold to the slaughter house around age 2, if it hasn't died from disease!. It's not really a pleasant life, so if you're interested in animal rights, doing a little digging there will give you plenty of motive to go vegan!.

Health reasons are also a great reason to go vegan!. Consuming dairy greatly increases your risk of cancers!. One of the major reasons I decided to go vegan was that I did some research on a type of cancer I'm at risk for due to family history, ovarian cancer, and found that in studies women who consumed the equivalent amount of dairy to two glasses milk daily were 60% more likely to get ovarian cancer than those who didn't consume dairy!. That was a big wake up call for me!. Animals store their toxins in their fat cells, so you can't avoid getting toxins when you eat dairy or meat!. The EPA has said there is no safe level of these toxins!.

Another thing you might want to consider is the environmental impact of all those dairy farms!. It takes a whole lot of land, and grass, and energy, and resources to keep those cows producing milk and manufacturing it into processed dairy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cow's do NOT "need to be milked" by humans!. Cow milk is meant for a calf, not humans!. Can you think of one other animal on earth that requires human intervention in the milking process!? NO!. The only reason cows would "need to be milked" would be because humans have pumped them full of artificial hormones so they are constantly producing an unnatural amount of milk for their own consumption!. Sick!.

Cow milk is full of pus, hormones, and antibiotics!. There's nothing available in cow milk that isn't available in a more nutritious plant!.

I'm vegan for health reasons!. Try veganism for 2 weeks and you'll never go back!. I didn't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'll try to keep this as short and simple as possible for you!.

Cows only produce milk for their children, so in order to get milk out of them they are constantly being impregnated!. That sounds kind of like animal-rape to me!. Then they are hooked up to a machine to be milked, and this does horrors on their utters!. And not to mention how blood and puss leaking from their utters goes into the gallon, to your glass, and finally, ends up in your milk-mustache!.

There, that was as short as I could manage!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarian, going vegan just as soon as I move out of my parent's house, which is in four years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Like all mammals, cows only produce milk when they are pregnant!. If a cow doesn't get pregnant, she doesn't produce milk, and therefore doesn't need to be milked!. Cows produce milk to feed their babies, same as any other mammal!. However, on dairy farms, the babies are taken away within hours of birth!. Female calves eventually join mom on the dairy line!. Male cows become veal; since I objected to veal long before I became veg, that was the impetus for me to dump dairy!. Just remember dairy=veal!.

I hope that makes sense!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For me personally, dairy is even less appealing than meat!. It's a slave labor situation!. We impregnate dairy cows every year, take their babies away from them, and milk them so intensely that the cows break down after 4 or 5 years (instead of the 20-plus years a cow can live naturally)!. These sick, spent animals are then sent off to slaughterhouses to become Big Macs and other low-grade meat products!.

It's disgusting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with all the reasons above!. Cows are treated inhumanely, there are hormones, and pus, and all kinds of other gross contaminants!. Not to mention the veal industry!. But I just wanted to add the following:

Ask yourself - would you drink another humans milk!? Would you drink a rat's milk!? How about the milk of your pet cat!?

We are one of the only species that drinks the milk of another species!. The whole reason mammals produce milk is to support offspring!.!.!.not other adults or species!.

Would you be upset if someone milked you without your consent!? What if they milked your mother and you were forced to eat solids before you were ready!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

the thing that moved me towards becoming a vegan was that when i did my research i found out that animals that we consume as meat eaters have hormones that we then take in, this means that the extra hormones over load our bodies blocking us from a healthy lifestyle and from letting our bodies develop well!. as a result of this we get unhealthy looking skin [as well as many other factors may trigger this], spots, mood swings, etc!.!.

you dont have to become vegan right away, make small changes like instead of adding milk to your coffee add soy milk (soya milk)!. try tofu with you salad, try vegan cheese etc etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

lmfao!.!.!. yeh ok!.

listen, us just being on these computers do not make us pure vegans!.

i've lived with it!.!. i still call myself a vegan!.!. it brings the point across harder when i'm to drop by (anywhere!.!.) and need to eat!.

just a bowl of fruit for me is good enough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

vegan, 34 years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cows naturally do not produce milk UNLESS they are pregnant!. They are artificially made to be pregnant, then the babies aren't even fed the milk!. Every animal produces milk for their YOUNG, just like humans!. Does drinking hippo milk sound natural!? Or any other animal then humans!? No!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

when you buy dairy it is supporting the veal industry!.
cows need to be pregnant to be milked!. when the calves are born they are sent off to be made into veal!.

ANT--how do you induce lactation without pregancy!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

cows only produce milk if they have had a baby!.!.!. if they've had a baby the baby can drink their milk until it no longer requires to at which point the mom stops making milkWww@FoodAQ@Com

first off that cows need to be made to have calves is a lie, you can induce lactation with out ever having them be pregnant!. It is more misguided and false info that is meant to scare people into there way of thinking!. you people need to get a job at a diary farm!.

Now I do fell that I do need to add something, and yes if you don't eat meat you will fell much better, in the long run!. And you can induce just look it up!. The real info is out there you just have to be smart enough to look for it instead of taking some one word that has no clue!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
