Almond, soy or rice milk!. I also add almonds, dates or raisins (1 of the 3) and sometimes cut up apples and cinnamon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use whole oat groats, instead of the flake stuff you find in most stores!. The "rolled oats" sold in stores have been steam rolled, and have lost much of the protein that makes them creamy, and much of the nutritional value too!. With whole groats, they will cook up nice and creamy, just by simmering them in water!. I put them in a slow cooker, and let them cook over night!. I drizzle a little agave nectar over them!. Lovely! I am cooking whole buckwheat groats right now, but I often cook oat groats for dinner-I top them with veggies, seasonings, herbs, etc!. Makes a nice change!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am not vegan, but I cook my oatmeal without milk or cream!. Get real oats and cook them overnight on low in a slowcooker!. The small sloowcookers that usually used for cheese dips are about the right size, and are very cheap ($20 or less)!. The oatmeal gets very creamy and the long cooking brings out its natural nutty flavor, plus you get more protein when you use real oats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use soymilk instead of milk!. I recommend Silk soymilk!. When it's used with other foods, it has a yummy slightly sweet taste that isn't really like milk but is still very yummy!. I'm a vegetarian and do have milk, but I sometimes prefer having soymilk in my oatmeal, cereal, and tea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, just water!.
I use quick oats, because I need it quick!.
If you use more water and cook longer, the more creamy it will be!.
I like to add malt to it for flavour!. Sometimes palm sugar or something else if I'm out of malt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make it either sweet or heavy, which ever I'm feeling that day!.
Sweet: raisins, nuts, soy milk, cinnamon, soy margarine!.
Heavy: soy milk, soy margarine, salt and bacon bits (some brands are veg)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
