Becoming a vegetarian?!?!

Question: Becoming a vegetarian!?!!?
will that make me lose a lot of weight!?!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
if becoming a vegetarian inspires you to eat better, then maybe!. you can be a vegetarian and still only eat twinkies and chocolate covered peanuts!.
if you eat mainly grains, vegetables and fruits, then probably!.
however, if you don't have weight to lose, then you won't!.

i became vegetarian a year ago with my best friend and didn't lose any weight, because i am thin and didn't have much to lose!.
my best friend on the other hand, did have weight to lose and lost around 20 pounds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

vegetarian for a year!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not necessarily!. I was vegetarian for seven years, and I love to eat!. I didn't really gain much, but I didn't have much to "lose" anyway!. If you eat a lot of vegetables and fruit and whole grains, then sure!. If you like carbs and cheese (and who doesn't!!) then you probably won't lose weight!. It certainly wouldn't hurt because at least you won't be eating as much animal fat, etc!., but there's definitely no guaranteed weight loss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarian for 7 years !.!.!. pescatarian for two!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends!. Some people lose weight, some don't!. I didn't, but I'm naturally thin to begin with and ate pretty healthy before I went veg!.

Just like any other diet, whether you lose weight is going to depend on how many calories you're taking in and burning off and how much fat you're eating!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarian for 2 years, near-vegan for 2 months!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it might!. its more likely if you go vegan!. a columnist at good magazine went vegan and lost 14 pounds without exercise
