Question: Is there really pus in milk!?!!?
*shudder* *gag*Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes, there is pus in milk!. Some people would like to pretend this isn't true, but it is!.

"The dairy industry knows that there is a problem with pus in milk!. Accordingly, it has developed a system known as the “somatic cell count” to measure the amount of pus in milk!. The somatic cell count is the standard used to gauge milk quality!. The higher the somatic cell count, the more pus in the milk!."

That's a PETA website, so of course some people will claim that PETA is lying!.

So here are two more links from industry sources!. Remember, "somatic cells" is the same thing as pus!.

"Milk somatic cell count (SCC) is a constant topic of discussion within the dairy industry!."
http://www!.moomilk!.com/archive/u-health-!.!.!.

"The somatic cell count (SCC) is important to dairy producers both because counts that are too high can lead to poor quality or even unsaleable milk and SCC can be used to monitor mastitis incidence in the herd!."
http://www!.milkproduction!.com/Library/Ar!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes as an inevitable result of the milking process whether by hand or by machine!. The USDA and the Dept!. of Health allows certain "tolerable" amounts/levels of contaminants in ALL foods!. For pus, its equivalent to about a drop or two in a Olympic swimming pool of milk, As the first poster pointed out, even plant foods are also contaminated with anything from insect parts/larvae to fertilizer residue (read manure)!.

Honestly, you are more likely to get sick from the pus, bacteria!.viruses etc in your spoon and fork, plates, door knobs, clothes, etc and even from your own hands than from drinking milk since it is commonly pasteurized!. If you knew how many millions of baceria you just got by typing on your keyboard, you would probably "*shudder* *gag* as you call it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

By the way, many omnivores do not drink milk!. Neither do many vegetarians!. Veganism as I understand it involves more than just diet!. So not drinking milk does not make you an instant "vegan"!. Besides, vegan, vegetarian etc are just definitions of people who follow a certain specific lifestyle!. It is not a "law" that they should follow and would suffer punitive consequences if they don't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well vegetarians don't eat that junk either!.!. or they're not suppose to!.

Yes, definitely!.

Imagine having giant milking machines attached to your nipples for hours at a time!.!.!.!.they would be come irritated with open sores after a while and the only natural thing would be for your body to produce pus!. This is what happens to the cows!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dont know if this is true, but if there were, im guessing it would be a controlled rate because all companies would probably go out of business!.

I's just like to say to "miss!.nomer"!?

No, it's not true!. It's just something that vegans like to say to scare people away from it!. There are far worse things in vegetables anyways, worms, maggots, etc!.

To the second poster, you are referencing a website called "Milk sucks!.com" as to why milk is bad for you!? With a name like "Milksucks!.com" I'm sure they are a very unbised (HAH) source for information regarding milk!.

also, to the 3rd poster, soy milk has been shown to increase cancer rates, specifically breast cancer in women!.

To the last poster "Oh!. And!. 'UNBISED!?!!'"
When quoting text any punctuation not included in the original text should be left outside of the quotation, in this case the "!?!!" you took the liberty of erroneously adding!. I missed a key, big deal, i don't care!. But if you're going to call people out about English then you better make sure that there is nothing wrong with yours!.
