Nuts, definately!. if you're looking for a household variety, peanut butter!. Take a spoon, scoop out some peanut butter, eat it!. starting out as a vegetarian, that was one of my main sources of protein!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians eat a large variety of foods (especially from the culture they're from) except meats, fish and poultry!. For example, Americans who are vegetarian eat salads with sliced eggs, vegetarian bacon bits, olives, carrot slices and dressing (without bacon) on it!. You will notice that I said "egg!." Most vegetarians eat eggs from chickens!. "Vegans" do not!. The difference between what is commonly called "vegetarians" and "vegans" is that vegans also abstain from eating eggs, butter, cheese and drinking milk!.

More examples: vegetarians will order a bean and cheese burrito with rice and salsa -- no beef or chicken or shrimp!.

Example: Vegans will order hummus with toasted breads with a side of Greek salad -- no egg slices!.

List of Grains: All Breads, Rice, Oatmeal, Quinoa, Wheat, Corn, Cous Cous, Buckwheat, etc!.

List of Nuts, Seeds and Legumes: All almonds, peanuts, cashews, filberts, Sunflower Seeds, Pine Nuts, Navy Beans, Soy Beans, Lentils, etc!.

List of Vegetables: Broccoli, Carrots, Kale, Cauliflower, Zucchini, etc!.

List of Fruits: Apples, Oranges, Pears, Peaches, Bananas, Pineapples, Melons, etc!.

Dairy (if you are not vegan): yoghurt, cheese, cottage cheese, milk, ice cream, etc!.

It's easier to think about the foods not on the list -- Vegetarians can eat all foods except for all meats (beef, pork, bacon, etc), fish (including shrimp), poultry (turkey, chicken, etc!.)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
