Should I continue to be a vegetarian?!

Question: Should I continue to be a vegetarian!?
I've been trying to be a vegetarian for about the past 2 years!. The first year I stopped eating beef and pork and the second year I stopped eating all meat products!. Its been really hard and I don't like any of the vegetarian's food!. I really want to be a vegetarian but I feel like I'm killing myself eating pasta and vegetables all the time!. Do you think I should stop being a vegetarian or do you think I need a little more time!? also, Would I still be considered a vegetarian if I eat meat at least once a week or twice a month!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

First , you really need to ask yourself!.!.!.How are you going to feel eating the body of an animal again !? Was it just a matter of health or did you really care about their suffering !?

Only you can decide , but I think you are here looking for guidance and opinions !. My opinion from the day I stopped eating meat , was I would Never take another animal's life period!.

It is also understandable that you are bored with what you are eating !. Do you cook your own food !? If you do then you should learn to experiment and have fun with new creations !. I Love rice dishes as Pilafs and Curry dishes !. What about potatoes , roasted, boiled, or mashed !? Stir-Fry !? Tacos and Burritos !? Sauteed veggies or oven roasted are very easy to cook !. I agree many of the veggie meats are gross, you need to make a list and try new ones ( write down if you like one or don't ) My sons friends like Morning star farms but some only taste good in the Oven not microwave !. So many companies have veggie meats if you continue !.!.you Will find ones you like!. Think of the way you liked meat!.!.barbque sauce or lettuce, tomato, pickles or ketchup/mustard and do the same to the veggie meat !. The are spicy nuggets and plain nuggets all vegetarian!.
There are a million ways to make pasta , with oil, with marinara and veggies , with beans , in soup !.!. You can eat Chinese food , Indian food , Mexican Food , basically try different nationalities !. Try soups , I love french onion and Minestrone !.!.actually almost any soup !.!.there are 100's of vegetarian soups! I am sure you eat Pizza !? no!?

I have heard meat eaters say how bored they are as well !.!. I have heard "I am sick of burgers or bologna "!. We all get bored sometimes and not just with food!.

I think you need to expand , give more foods a try , stick with it and create!.!.Look at the great chefs of the world , they create or even they would be bored ! Think of yourself as a great chef!!

http://vegweb!.com/ has tons of recipes

or ask here on Yahoo or email for recipes !.!.I have my favorites !.!.

Last no , you can not be a vegetarian and eat meat at all , not even once in a while !.

It all comes down to you and why you chose this road !.!.!.

I think it is excellent that you desire to be healthy and eat right!. I also think life is meant to be enjoyed(without overindulgence) and that there is nothing wrong with eating meat(within reason)!.
A good compromise is whitefish such as orange roughy, etc!. A fish low in mercury content!. Tuna is good, once per week(mercury!)
Free range chicken that is baked, or make
homemade soup out of it is very healthy, and you're still not eating red meats!.
At least you're staying away from the processed meats of the death food OOPS I mean fast food joints!.
As far as whether or not you're still considered vegetarian, why concern yourself with the smug self-righteous opinions of those who might turn their arrogant noses up at you because you're not "authentically vegetarian" or whatever foolishness!.
Just be yourself, and enjoy a healthy life putting reasonable limits on your meat consumption, and yet enjoying the occasional meat!.
Now go kill something and eat it LOL j/k :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If all you're eating is pasta and vegetables, no wonder you feel unsatisfied!. What about nuts, beans, lentils, fresh fruit, split peas, etc!? If you don't have a balanced diet, you will crave energy-rich foods!. Plant foods are not as dense as meat, so you need to choose them carefully and eat enough of them!.

Kael writes that "not all animals are poorly treated!." He's absolutely right!. Just the vast majority of them are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

buy fake meat duh
or if you feel about the animals then buy organic meat, dairy products
I only eat organic meat, dairy products because the chickens are free roam around , they're killed in the most humane way, the milk comes from a farm about 10 miles away from where I live, and of course all natural meat!. I try not to eat alot of meat and stuff but sometimes I do
but only because livestock is a huge contributor to global warmingWww@FoodAQ@Com

i'm not sure what your motive for going vegitarian, but i sugest you eat kosher becuse if you're like me you may feel bad for the animals killed so they make food from animals killed pain-free and without pesticides and growth hormones!.!.!. plus they use only the best parts of an animal ( wich means no guts in ur hotdogs only real meat)!.

but if u decide to eat meat once a month you would not be a vegitarian!.!.!. and please don't try to be one just becuse ppl in school do it, if u are tempted to eat meat just do it!.!.!. it should not be a social status thing (like being a vegitarian just cus another girl is)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would say you should have meat only every so often like treats on a diet because this is your diet and you should allow yourself treats!. and, judging from the way you put it, you probably aren't totally disgusted with the slaughtering of animals like some vegetarians!. your best shot would be buffalo meat!. it is one of my personal favorites, and it's better for you than chicken and beef and stuff!. plus it tastes better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're doing your body a favor!. Who wants meat with pesticides, hormones added, AND can now be sold as normal meat when it's cloned!. Gross!.

Have you tried and Morningstar meat substitutes!? They have ribs, chicken, buffalo wings!.!.!.everything!. also, Boca sells veggie burgers!. You just have to look in the right places!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being a vegetarian is stupid!. Not all animals are poorly treated and they are born to be eaten, cattle don't do much other than eat and be eaten!. You should have a balanced diet in which meat is included!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, i would suggest trying to find different foods to eat!. Personally, i eat lots of fruits and spicier foods!. But, if you feel like you cant take it any more, dont! Do what will make you happyWww@FoodAQ@Com

You can make veg pasta like this http://my-italian-cooking!.com/!?p=38Www@FoodAQ@Com

try grilled seitan or field roast company sausages!. they taste good
vegetarians don't eat meat ever, but the less meat eaten the better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

only if your happy but don't force it!. being a vegetarian is not for everyone!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You gave it a good shot!. I certainly would not go any farther!.

Enough is enoughWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you don't like vegetarian's food!? Even if you go back to being an omnivore you'll still be eating most of the same foods!. Meat doesn't add that many options - there are many more kinds of fruits, veggies and grains then there are meat products!.

What have you been eating!? I know my diet is much more varied as a vegetarian then it was when I was an omnivore!. You say pasta and veggies are your main staple - what about beans, rices (brown, jasmine, forbidden, basmati, paddy or any of the other 40,000 types) legumes, wheat berries, Amaranth, quinoa, barley, buckweat or other grains!? Are you eating the same veggies over and over or are you trying new things!? Are you eating fruit!?

What about ethnic foods!? Indian and Japanese and Middle Eastern are all easy to make vegetarian food!. I love cookbooks and have thousands of recipes for vegetarian foods - I think I could go years without repeating a recipe if I wanted to!.

If you want to go omni that's your choice!. But if you're doing it from lack of food options then try expanding your culinary horizons!.

And no- A vegetarian does not eat meat at all!. Eating a few times a month is better for your health and for the animals then eating daily, but it does make you an omnivore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why did you become a vegetarian!?!? Was it to be kind to animals or for health reasons!? I have an answer for both:

IF IT WAS FOR HEALTH REASONS- may as well just eat it, as long as you have a healthy diet!. you only live once! however, please think about the pain/suffering these innocent animals go through just for a couple minutes of pleasure on your part!.

IF IT WAS TO BE KIND TO ANIMALS- please stay veggie!! i know it's hard!! i hate a lot of the the veg food!! i have "fake meat" and tofu, too!! i love sausage and bacon and steak!.!.!. yum!! i know it's very hard, but think about all the innocent animals your saving!! it's like this: do you want to have a couple minutes of pleasure every day and kill a bunch of inncoent animals, or do you want to be a shining example for all humans and do the right thing by choosing to treat animals like living things instead of items!?! PLEASE!! we need you!! animals will never get the respect they deserve unless we all make some sacrifices!! i'm asking you to put what you want aside and put the life of animals first!!

hope i helped!! =D
