I really need some advice/help on vegetarianism?!

Question: I really need some advice/help on vegetarianism!?
I am getting over the combined residual effects of having had Malaria and Typhoid both contracted in Vietnam!. I am free of these 2 diseases but the effects of non treatment of both (I just got over them by myself) are playing havoc with my gut/intestines and have done for almost 2 years!.

I have to watch what I eat very very closely!. Fat is out, red meat is out, pork is out, anything cold, including drink, is out, anything spicy is out!.

If I accidentally eat one of those, I get full fever, aches, nausea etc!.

It has now got to the point where I now desire to accustom my body to become vegetarian as fruit and veges I can eat with the exception of pears and watermelon!.

Where do I start!? What should I buy this week!? What staple food do I eat to get my protein!?

I enjoy riding my bike, I need lots of protein and energy!. Can I get everything I need being a vegetarian!. I can eat fish!.

Is there something important you think I should know!?

Is there any one thing that vegetarians sometimes lack due to their diet!? Are there any traps!?

Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Make the back bone of your diet fruit and greens!.
Here is my ideal diet!.

50% fruit, at least 35% sweet!.
40% vegetables, at least 35% leafy greens
5% nuts AND seeds
5% sprouts

As well as spirulina and vitamin B12 supplements daily!.
I also start my day with 5 glasses of filtered or aged water, as soon as I wake up, even before I shower since it prevents me over eating and has a mild detoxification effect on my body!.

That's what works for me but I think it gives a good guideline of what is considered healthy!.

ADD: This is ideal, sometimes I'll change it a little bit but that's it mostly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually, a vegetarian diet is strongly advised for one recovering from typhoid!. Meat (including fish) and eggs are prohibited!.

Just make sure you eat a variety of foods- leafy greens, organic fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, fresh juices!.!.!.

Honey, fresh apple juice, oranges and cloves are all beneficial!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Protein sources for vegetarians include beans, brussel sprouts, and dairy products!. If you can't drink cold dairy then go for cheese perhaps!? Eggs are a good source, and nuts are an excellent source, though they are fatty - but without cholesterol since it is a non-animal based fat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

make your own regeme

1 beans + grains is a complete protien

so things such as black beans or pinto beans + rice would be good
a loaf of pecan meal and oats or mashed beans would work
nuts or seeds + grains = complete protien
cashew gravy with a tofu or soy bean gravy
and seeds or nuts + beans = complete protienWww@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians lack Vitamin B-complex!. You can buy a sub lingual applicator from CVS or get an yearly shot of Vit B-complex/ B-12!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have not received ongoing medical treatment you are over neither!. Have you never heard of Typhoid Mary!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

veggies get their protein/essential amino acids from combining rice/quinoa with legumes/beans!. This doesn't need to be at the same meal or even on the same day!. most only need 3 portions of each a week for all protein needs (most humans eat far more protein than needed)

Eat more vegetables than fruits in a day and try to eat a rainbow colour scheme i!.e!. not all one colour!.

have a look at vegweb!.com for recipes!. Eat when you are hungry!Www@FoodAQ@Com
