Actually, a well-balanced diet including meat (in moderation, of course) is as healthy as a well-balanced vegetarian diet.

Vegetarian since birth

Interesting question. Because it's not. There's absolutely no proof that giving up meat can make you healthier or thinner. Some meats are high in calories, but your body needs calories. There are certainly lean, lower calorie cuts of meat that would work in anyone's diet. Vegetarians can eat potato chips, candy, etc., just like meat eaters.

Much of the veg*n propaganda is based on a "study" done in 1954 by Dr. Ancel Keyes, the Seven Countries Study. Dr. Keys took data from seven countries and plotted a perfect graph that showed the more saturated fat an individual ate, the more likely they would have heart disease. But it was a dishonest study. Dr. Keys had data from 22 countries, not just seven. He simply cherry picked the seven countries that "proved" his argument. If one adds all the data from 22 countries, there's absolutely no proof of a link between saturated fat and heart disease! Yet it has become accepted here in the US. The US government has funded probably dozens of real studies to show the connection between saturated fats (meat) and heart disease. So far none of them have shown a link! Amazing, huh?

Drug companies love it. Statin sales are huge in the US even though actual research on how effective they are is very limited and some if it us quite questionable. Big ag loves it. Sales of processed grains have increased dramatically since 1954, as people cut saturated fats out of their diet. Yet we have an obesity epidemic. Make sense to you?

The short answer is a resounding yes; it has been conclusively proven through extensive worldwide studies by independent, highly respected international health advisory boards that a vegetarian diet is significantly healthier than one which includes meat and animal products. This is true for all ages, infant to adult, and includes pregnant and lactating women.

Some people say many things, e.g. Psychics exist, gods exist, Bigfoot exist, ghosts exist, 2012 is doomsday, is healthier be vegetarian, etc. Are all absurd hoaxes, frauds create hoaxes get attention and make money usually, PeTa, ALF and such groups produce much "osu no kuso" deceive people. Meat more efficient nutrition of plants.

They just want to believe that for some reasons, none good. There is much propaganda about this subject, and the believers only look at data that supports their premature beliefs. This is Confirmation Bias. To really find the truth, we must look at all the evidence and then think carefully. There are many frauds who tell lies and create hoaxes for their own nefarious purposes. Humans are really omnivores, so being a herbivore is quite unnatural. There is no valid reason fo anyone to make his life much more complex than it needs to be. PETA is a leader in lying to promote vegetarianism, and many people in this category mindlessly quote its lies.

Lower saturated fat and cholesterol are probably a big part of it. More fiber is also a reason. Vegetarians are also statistically more likely to have other healthy habbbits, llike not smoking and getting regular exercise.

meat can be healthy too if they are not injected with growth hormones and cooking style also plays a role, not excessive oil or fatty additions.

The Japanese way of eating raw fish is good example of healthy non vege diet.

It's only healthy if you eat properly. Going vegetarian to lose weight may not be a good idea. You have to balance your diet.

It's probably a combination of factors.

According to Keith and Linda Scott, in their book, Natural home pharmacy:

"Vegetarians consistently have lower incidences of cancer, cardiovascular disease and other chronic degenerative diseases. At first this was attributed to a diet containing little saturated fat. Then the benefits of a high-fibre diet were identified, and now it seems that there are multiple factors in plant food that help the body cope with every menace the environment holds, from micro-organisms to harmful chemicals. The best advice seems to be to adopt a diet based primarily on vegetables, fruit and wholegrains."

1) Animal foods are higher in fat than most plant foods.
2) Meat is deficient in carbohydrates, which are essential for proper health.
3) Meat is deficent in vitamins.
4) Acne is aggravated by animal food.
5)Fibre absorbs unwanted, excess fats plant food is high in fiber content; meat, poultry and dairy products have none.
6)Animals are fed poison's and drugs that are dangerous to consume

there are much more facts, look them up.

We have reduced risk of cancer by 40%, reduced risk of heart disease by 50%, reduced risk of diobeties by 88% along with reduced risk of achne, food poisining, obesity and many different diseases.
