What are in vegan cupcakes?!

Question: What are in vegan cupcakes?
So I went to a coffee shop the other day and now I'm addicted to their vegan cupcakes. Can anyone tell me what they are made of? I know that seems odd because there could be multiple things but this one was a chocolate vegan cupcake. The frosting was a bit sugary but the over all flavor of the cupcake was amazing!

C-U-M, Nicotine, Caffine, Alcohol.

The Bakery

oil, applesauce, vegan margerine.

IT depends on the falvour, but plenty of cupcakes taste much better imo. Margerine makes them softer and moister, Chocolate without the milk- plain chocolate cupcakes, with oil, applesauce or banana.
You can buy whey powder too, soyflour ( makes them taste very creamy), nut powder ( add to the flour they taste nutty all the way through.
SOy lecithin is used too.
I'd try making dark chocolate batter- dark chocolate, flour, soymargerine, beets shredded ( a little bit, it amakes the cupcakes very dark and rich and moist) soy lecithin.
All these vegan things can be got from a health shop or any good asian market.

Any cupcake will have fats (margarine, oil, etc), flours, sugars/sweeteners, a liquid (like nondairy milks, water, sometimes juice in flavored ones), and flavorings (well, duh).
Sometimes a binder, like cornstarch, silken tofu, or ground flaxseed, will be included, but since cupcakes are supposed to be light and fluffy you usually don't see those- they're more for cookies and brownies. When you do see one, its usually a less 'binding'/powerful binder (if that makes sense), or just happens to be there for another purpose (like applesauce, for moistness).

My basic chocolate cupcake is flour, sugar, cocoa powder, almond milk (I'm guessing the bakery uses soymilk), apple cider vinegar (to curdle almond milk), vanilla extract, chocolate extract, canola oil, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
(Is it bad that I know the recipe by heart? :))
It's a slightly modified version of the recipe from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World.

Vegan frosting is usually a combination of shortening, margarine, confectioners sugar, various extracts/flavorings, and nondairy milk/creamer

A lot of vegan cupcakes use soy yogurt for moistness, too.

You can probably ask for the ingredient list, make a excuse for allergies or something :) A friend's allergies, if they know you there.

I'm vegan, I bake a lot (you can probably tell)

Yes!! Vegan cupcakes are delish!! :)

they basically are not made with any animal product - so no reg butter, milk, cream, or animal fat... all the ingredients come from vegetables such us soy milk or almond milk, coconut oil; vanila, almond or orange extract, almond flour, etc!

Love them! :)

Pretty much the same thing as in non-vegan cupcakes, but they'll use plant milk--say soy or almond--instead of cows' milk and egg replacer. There are vegan margarines as well. Some places might use turbinado sugar or vegan sugar.

I've made vegan cupcakes.

Vegans don't eat or use animal products like milk or leather and some don't even eat processed foods. So in the vegan cupcakes that I have eaten they haven't had milk or eggs and usually used all natural sugars and flours.
