Can you sprout Oat Grouts?!

Question: Can you sprout Oat Grouts?
Hello,

I am wondering whether you can sprout Oat Grouts?

I have Organic Oat Grouts which I want to sprout and add to my sourdough bread.
Some say you can some say you cant. If anyone has had experience that would be great.

Thanks Heaps

Answers:

Most oat grouts do sprout, although I've had a few batches that just refused to. I'm unsure if I did something wrong or the place I got them from treated them different or something else. Oat grouts usually take about 2 days to sprout.

However, you should know that you don't have to sprout them for them to be editable raw. The germination time is about 8 hours of soaking time. I usually soak my oats overnight if I want raw oatmeal in the morning.
