It's become such a fashion trend...
Because it's something that's "cool to do."
Have you seen anyone who's a member of PETA? They're almost all scene or emo, which appeals to people with little to no taste in clothing and/or personality.
People who broadcast being vegetarian are generally poseurs, and, as a result of that, suck cock.
Vegetarian all 17 years of my life.
Some people think it's cool and will be like ''Oh, I'm a vegetarian but sometimes I eat hamburgers and sometimes I'll eat chicken but besides that I'm a vegetarian'' And some people might actually want to be a vegetarian and then realize that they can't do it, which I think is pretty stupid as well because I've been a vegetarian since 4th grade and I'm fine! :D
well i think it takes a lot of self control to be veg and most people dont care enough to stick with it thats all..i mean who doesnt wanna at least try to save animals and better themselves but you know its not that easy and so they give up
Not sure. I've been a vegetarian for almost as long as you've been alive. I live in Texas, so I don't see many people becoming vegetarian suddenly.
I think if anything, vegetarianism/veganism is cool.
But whatevs.
some would be called social vegetarians
I don't think they are doing it to be "cool" or anything. I imagine it's something new that they were exposed to at some point and had been contemplating it for a while and finally decided to give it a try. Not everyone has the discipline though, so they give up shortly after.
I remember when I was a sophomore in high school. In english class we had to watch this video on how animals are treated in China, disgusted I convinced myself and my whole family to do the vegetarian thing for a while.
We did and were successful, but then it got tougher and tougher and the will ran out. And we stopped.
After a while I went back to being a vegetarian and today I'm a vegan! woot woot! Never going back.
So in the end I think it's mostly about will power, not to mention the resources (money) to do it.
