Hidden animal ingredients?!

Question: Hidden animal ingredients?
What are other hidden animal ingredients. I know about gelatin, and rennet in cheese. I know there's more but I just do not know what they are! Thanks!

Answers:

Any time you see the words "natural flavor" there is the possibility that they used animal products. For example, McDonalds french fries contain beef flavor. Lots of medicines and vitamins contain animal products, beyond just gelatin in the capsule. Also, red food coloring is sometimes made from crushed beetles, especially in red velvet cake.

There are more listed on the Vegetarian Resource Group website.

There could be redundancies in these lists but they have a lot of stuff;

This is a great book that lists most everything:

you can preview it here:

The first links are lacking in a lot of ingredients. The VegFamily I don't believe has been updated since the 90s, it has some good info but also some older info that needs updating, I wish they would work on that someday...ah well!
