How long does it take to thaw frozen tofu?!

Question: How long does it take to thaw frozen tofu?
I just put some tofu in the freezer because I don't use it often. I plan on using it again soon though, maybe Wednesday. I live alone so I only cook for myself and use only 1/4 of the container at a time so there's no reason to keep it in the fridge unless I'm going to use it every night for 4 days in a row.
tl;dr how long does it take to thaw frozen tofu? A day? Hour? How should I thaw it?
It's extra firm tofu

Answers:

At least 3-5 hours, but it depends on the temperature in your kitchen/house too. I don't usually think of it ahead of time, so when I take tofu from the freezer I just put it in the microwave on defrost for a few minutes and then longer if needed. I take it out when it's pretty much thawed, but the center is still a bit icy, then use everything but the icy bit & put that back in the mic. to thaw it. If you're only using 1/4 of a block at a time, then I would cut it into quarters after draining & pressing and wrap it & freeze it that way. That would be safer and less time consuming than thawing it & refreezing it a few times.
