you can buy cook books to learn how to cook vegan food. veganomicon is good, and also the joy of vegan baking for your sweet treats. :) you can also make your own icecream out of soy, hemp, rice or nut milks.

there's a lot of recipes online for free, too.

if you want to start immediately & have stuff on hand that's quick, go to the store & buy some amy's organic stuff (can be found at walmart in frozen foods & canned foods), you can also buy items from morning star & other vegetarian/vegan people- just look at the ingredients & make sure they don't have animal products. PETA2.com has a place where there's a list of animal ingredients to look for. they also have some simple recipes that can get you started.

another good book is called "becoming vegan"

all 3 books you can get on amazon.

one book that's out of print, but has a plethora of recipes (over 1,400) is called "simply heavenly" and it's by george burke. you can find copies available for sale on amazon, but sometimes they're over 100.00 a copy, since it's an out of print book. it teaches you how to make fake meats -- beef, chicken, pork, turkey, fish, shrimp, duck, etc.. also has a plethora of salad dressings, cookies, pies, icecreams, soups, salads, breads, etc.

Try this great, well priced cookbook (I think is is downloadable).

Hi!
If you want to be a vegan, you should buy vegan cookbooks or you can go online to this site: engine2diet.com and it has lots of recipes. I personally love these recipes. Being vegan doesn't have to limit your options, you can eat fake macaroni and cheese, there are a lot of fake meat, and dairy products. If you like tacos you can get TOFUTTI sour cream and it tastes better than real sour cream, but it you want to be a vegan you can't eat at mcdonald's everything there has animal products in it, even their fries. If you like chipotle, you can a vegan burrito.

Hi there !!! I was 15 when I stopped eating meat ... Thanks to my father he took me to Meat Market where they cut any kind of chicken or goat infront of you yucks ... I vomitted there and decided not to eat meat anymore ... I useto think meat is grown by planting trees or where they put seeds and grow like Wheat, Rice etc.. LOL I was a kid that time now I am 36 and still eat NO Meat but eat Fish and Eggs which is very very high in Proteins. I am very healthy and on Face Book have lots of friends who follow me as I also hate animal cruelty... You are doing a good job by deciding to cut down. I know you want to be 100% meatless then go to supermarkets and look for 100% Veg Patties, Veg Hot Dogs, Veg Salami they all are made of 100% Veg but tastes very similar to real meat .. Once you start eating Veg Patties by Morning Star brand you will surely forget about real meat... So good luck to you and I am so proud of you as you decided not to eat Meat ... Thumbs Up !! & Good Luck to you ... Shaun ... 100% for my answer please ...

Number 1. Animals don't have rights. Unless you include the right to be tasty, they have none at all.

Number 2. You know what's healthy? Protein. Now where do you find protein.... oh yeah.

Yumm...

just stop eating meat and all your dairy. :) very simple

Animal rights? Sorry but it's in all forms of nature to feed and gain the nutrients we need from wherever we need. Vegans also don't believe in animal labor, guess what, we're animals as well so all the farmers and immigrants picking your oranges to get less than minimum wage is pretty cruel as well so that can be considered animal cruelty.

1) animals eat other animals
2) it not as healthy as eating meat and vegetables

however if you must, try buying a vegan cook book you should be able to get it from Barnes and Nobles or any other book store for that matter or if you can wait amazon
