Have you gotten sick from accidentally eating meat?!

Question: Have you gotten sick from accidentally eating meat?
This question is for vegetarians/vegans who accidentally ate some meat and got sick from it. This is also for former vegetarians/vegans who got sick from eating their first piece of meat.
a) What did you eat that made you sick? (fish, chicken, beef..)
b) How much of it did you eat? Did you spit it out or keep eating?
c) How long were you a vegan/vegetarian before this incident(s) happened?
d) How long were you sick and in what ways were you sick? (throwing up, stomach ache) How long did it last?
Let me know anything else. I want to eat meat as rarely as possible without getting sick every time I eat it. Thanks!

Oh my gosh. You have no idea.
1) I was 5 and didn't know that I was a vegetarian. We went to Chik-Fil-A because we got a coupon for ice cream. I really wanted chicken nuggets, so I somehow got one and ate it. I threw up that night.
2) I was 5 and it was my mom's work party. They had hot dogs. I wanted one, but my mom wouldn't let me have it. My mom left to go paint faces, so I stayed near the hot dogs. Some lady asked me if I wanted a hot dog, and I said yes. I threw up that night.
3) I was 11 and we went to Ruby Tuesdays. I got a mac and cheese and forgot to ask if there was chicken broth in it. There was. I threw up that night.
Hope this helps.

yes, I didn't know
c) How long were you a vegan/vegetarian before this incident(s) happened?
about 6 months
d) How long were you sick and in what ways were you sick? (throwing up, stomach ache) How long did it last?
had a stomach ache all night, but that's it

veg for nearly 2 years

Well I wouldn't call it an accident since the person serving the meal said it was mushroom pasta rather than beef. But i will still answer the question;
a. It was beef in cheese pasta.
b. Not alot.
c. 3yrs.
d. I had a stomach ache, thank god I did not throw up. It lasted for two days.

I was really upset, I was in Italy on a tour and the guide apologized.

Well I have never accidentally ate meat. Every time I have eaten meat it has been on purpose, and I have never gotten sick from it.

a) Someone put what I think was beef broth in my sauteed mushrooms. Ick.
b) I didn't realize it right away, so I ate about half of the (small) serving of mushrooms before I realized it didn't taste right.
c) I was vegan for about a month.
d) I felt like I was going to puke for exactly five hours. We stopped at McDonalds on the way home to go to the bathroom (long drive), and I was planning to throw up there, but I just couldn't do it in a public restroom. I decided to wait until we got home, but by then it wasn't as bad. I was very tired and nauseous for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

My advice when you go out to a clearly vegan-unfriendly restaurant, just suck it up and order a salad and a plain baked potato. >_< It's not worth the risk. I even specified for them to just saute the mushrooms in just oil. DDDDDD=<<<
