Noob Vegetarian. Help?!

Question: Noob Vegetarian. Help?
So last thursday I watched some sad video about animal torturing in slaughterhouses. I honestly don't care about eating animals. They taste good, they're here for people to eat. But I do have a problem with animals being tortured. Anyway, so for the past five days I haven't been eating any meat and I'm trying to be a vegetarian. But I'm not really changing my diet except refraining from meat. And I'm pretty sure that meat has a lot of things your body needs that I need to make up for by eating something else. But I don't know what. I'm eating more oatmeal for iron... But I have no idea how to eat vegetarian meals... My entire family eats meat, I'm 15. So... does anyone have any ideas on how I can eat fulfilling meals with no meat but still not be hungry after I eat them? :D

A healthy VEGETARIAN diet combining all the essential amino acids to make "PROTEIN", is explained in the book Diet for a Small Planet.

If you don't care about eating animals, then why aren't you? Sorry but I'm a hardcore
vegetarian and I don't eat meat because I care about animals. Plus I just don't like it.
Anyways,I eat a lot of nuts and peanut butter.

Yes it's easy. Use the food pyramid as a reference: http://vegetarius.files.wordpress.com/20…

Here are some links for vego recipes:

Get stuck into these and try a few out.

Jumping into vegetarianism without doing any research is a no-no. It usually results in malnutrition and quitting. It's better to do the research and skip the suffering.

I like 3 bean salad & almonds.

I also like firm tofu cubed small, mixed with taco seasoning, add beans, salsa & guacamole. Awesome tacos!

if you dint want to encourage animals being tortured, ask your family to buy beef from a grass fed farm, which can be looked up on the internet and found locally. they are raised outside and not in factory farms. the same could be done with other types of meat and can be found at farmers markets (there are also winter farmers markets that are popping up here and there and they are worth going to!).

otherwise, make sure you drink/eat your dairy, vegetables, and fruit (not fruit "juice") to help you feel full. Also make sure you try making different bean dishes, edemame (can be found in the frozen vegetable section in grocery stores), tofu, and egg dishes, all which will provide you with the variety of protein that you need. Peanut butter and cheese are also well known vegetarian sources of protein, but try to have fun trying new things!

also, if you are concerned with iron, try making chickpeas with brown rice. Those beans are higher in iron, and are easily added to soups, stir fries, and salads.

Congratulations, you have been suckered by propaganda, that's right propaganda. They will take footage of the most horrible illegal stuff and promote that as the normal treatment of animals on farms.
Get off the internet, find a local farm and go check it out. You'll quickly find that torturing animals is not normal, you can not run a successful farm by abusing your animals. Do you watch a film about abused pets and think that's how all pet owners treat their pets. If all you have cut out is meat, then you are not getting enough protein, if you are determined to follow this course, then check into soy products, like meat flavor patties, those will fool your body into thinking it got what it needed.
