get into the habit of eating more meat?!
Answers:
Eat what you like. However, you should try all different kinds of food and expand your repitoire. Certainly the food we eat will make our bodies what they become. So I would learn about as much as i could about food. Every kind of food.
Take that sreak you mentioned. Try that same cut of meat, but with buffalo. You just cut your cholestoral significantly. Just learn about food. Try everything.
Yes, getting into the habit of eating more meat would be a good idea. Red meat and fish are especially healthy, but each carries its own risks, so you really should only eat each type a few times a week. (I eat red meat almost every day though and am healthy as a horse)
Meat is very healthy as it is loaded with high-quality protein with all the essential amino acids in the ideal balance, as well as iron and vitamin B12.
You don't need to eat meat for protein. See, you stuck this in the Vegetarian section and they've given you all these alternatives to meat. I think they're pretty great.
I also have a few suggestions: Maybe turn and have a look at dairy products like yogurt, milk, cheese, and eggs? They say dairy contains some of the easiest of absorb proteins. Fish and seafood is even higher in protein than meat, so if you like seafood, then dip in.
Work out, in order for your body to absorb these proteins, then it needs a reason to first.
It sounds like you may not "hate meat", but it doesn't sound like you like it that much either.
Many vegetarian and vegan foods contain protein (sometimes more than meat) and here are their sources:
Beans (dozens more kinds than the 4 types of meat out there) :
Limas, navy beans, great northern, butter beans, lentils*, black beans, black eyed peas*, red beans, soy beans*, garbanzo*, etc..
Molasses (tastes gross though by itself). If you can make a gingerbread cookie (low sugar)
Brewer's yeast.
Grains w/ protein:
Flaxseed powder, brown rice*, seeds, etc.
Vegetables w/ protein:
Broccoli, sweet potato, asparagus, etc..
*= high sources of protein
Those whey protein shakes are known for the protein source and they don't make a meat protein shake to my knowledge and if they did, it wouldn't sell as well, I guarantee it. Those milk based protein shakes are d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.
actually jessica, in my neck of the woods, youre exactly right. we butcher all our own meat. it tastes so much better then what you buy from the stores, its cleaner, more humane, not pumped full of hormones and chemicals....much better for you.
but here is a short list with a few high protien foods that arent meat, you can get your protien without having to eat meat if you really want to.
* Tempeh — 1 cup — 41 g
* Lentils — I cup — 18 g
* Chickpeas — I cup — 12 g
* Tofu — 4 oz — 9 g
* Peanut butter — 2 tbsp — 8 g
* Soymilk — I cup — 7 g
* Brown rice — 1 cup — 5 g
* Whole wheat bread — 2 slices — 5 g
* Broccoli, cooked — I cup — 4 g
and this site has some recipes for meatless meals that are high in protein as well.

hmm, thumbs down for trying to help someone. go figure. probably from the same ones complaining about non vegetarian/vegans being in this section in the other question.
Actually there are SO many people who are muscular AND vegetarian. Just Google for foods that have high proteins, such as lentils.
Go to this website: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm
It's EXACTLY what you're looking for.

If you do not care much for meat, I would suggest putting the meat in other things so you cannot taste it much. For example, a salad, or tacos, or wraps, etc. Anything with meat inside, where the meat isn't the main part of the meal.
You just need to increase the protein content of your diet. If you can't be arsed eating properly, try a soy protein powder. This will allow you to avoid all the harmful crap assicated with meat consumption and bulk up big like these guys: http://veganfitness.net/
Actually, you can build muscles on a vegetarian or vegan diet.

If you don't like to eat meat, then don't eat it. you lack willpower or initiative. meat is healthy for you, by the way. and learn how to use punctuation.
Wrong section. You're asking this to people who don't eat meat.
Meat=Protein
Protein=Muscles
Stick with the meat.
Going to the farm and killing your own food is a blast! it is very awarding to eat a pig that you know that you killed! This will differently make you want to eat more meat!
I suggest you ST FU and go away
TROLL!!!!
