We(Some) humans somehow think that certain animals are "Better" because they are domesticated. If pigs could play fetch would they not be "Food"?

It's because of cultural/societal norms.

At least, that's the way it plays out in the Western world. Pigs are food, dogs are pets.

In other parts of the world with different cultures/societies, there are other norms where pigs may be pets and dogs may be food. Perhaps not specifically those animals, but the point is what they think of as pets and what we think of as pets may be very different. Similarly, what they think of as food and what we think of as food may be very different.

And they probably feel the same way about it as you do (only the opposite); why is it ok to butcher a dog (or whatever) when beating a pig (or whatever) is considered cruel?

Even though I eat meat and keep pets (not the same animals or types of animals), I agree with you; boil a live lobster and you're a chef, boil a live kitten and suddenly it's a big deal.

if you kick a pig its animal cruelty too. if you want to put a bullet in your own dog, thats not illegal. do you always just twist the facts to suit your own needs? personally, when we butcher our beef and hog we dont slit their throat, we shoot them close range with a shotgun, between the eyes, they never feel it, they dont have time, they are dead before they hit the ground.

Eggs and bacon are great for the start of the day and plenty of places sell them. not too keen on the idea of dog and eggs but would give it a go if they started to sell it in the shops. Meat is meat after all.

I like the way you ask a question and then tell people how to answer. I kill animals and eat them, period. There is nothing you can do about it. People think differently than you, Deal with it.

That's what I'm sayin'. You wouldn't eat your dog, so why would you eat a pig, or a cow? Animals are living things, and don't deserve to be killed just because they're tasty.

A dog is a pet. A pig is raised to be slaughtered. It wasn't my idea, and I'm not saying it's a good thing to murder animals, but that's how it is.

Because in America, we've put a hierarchy on animals and double standards on cruelty.

Pigs are food. Sorry.
