I really want a good hearty steak, but I'm a vegetarian?!

That's a decision only you can make..
Every once in a while take a break from being a vegetarian, have a steak, have a hamburger, have some chicken or some seafood, and then go back to being a vegetarian. That's what I do.
I use to do that every now and then, but now I don't really have any desire for anymore animal product.
Honestly, no answer on here is going to zap away your craving. I know its hard!! I might not have had the trouble because of being vegetarian, however...i've been on a restricted diet before and when a craving hits...its all you want.
You can either try to ignore it...It will be hard, but it will pass in a few hours and you wil be that much stronger.
You could try to write down the reasons why you are a vegetarian. Really try to muster up that
feeling of when you first started.
Or you can give in, and eat the steak. But if you do that, it will be harder in the future if you decide to go back to a vegetarian diet. You can't really give in every time if you want to really stick with this life style.

well, ill tell you what i do in these cases, i go to the freezer, i take out a big, thick ribeye steak, thaw it, cook it medium rare, nice and juicy, and i eat that sucker. i guess if i were a vegetarian, i would have a salad, and drool the rest of the night.
Just eat it. Quit worrying about the labels. If you were a lesbian and suddenly desired men instead would you say, "no, I must just have relationships with women"? Of course not. You would then like men and forget about the the rest. The same is true here.
Stop being a vegetarian for 10 minutes and eat a steak rare. If you like steaks well done, I will ask you politely, yet firmly, to leave.

Try quorn steaks they're really good! Or you could try portobello mushrooms they're very juicy and yummy.

If you really want it that bad then eat the steak, and then continue with your vegetarian diet afterwards.
Portobello mushrooms are a good substitute for steak. You can marinade and grill them just like you would steak.
Life's too short to obsess over food...eat the steak, and move on with your life. Cravings are way to tell you what your body needs. You probably need protein.
