It's pointless asking us for help with your own willpower, only you can do it. Nothing anyone here will say will change it. All it can do is inspire you, but if you have chosen the path of true logic, you should be full of self inspiration already.

You can also ask at the movies to see the ingredients of their butter. Often times it's not real butter. You can also bring your own vegan treats. Or do like me and only have water.
If you want to have popcorn, have popcorn! Make your own. There's vegan chocolate and MILLIONS of vegan dessert recipes you could make. There is vegan chinese food too. I don't really understand the question.
I wouldn't recommend a vegan diet for you, if you're doing it merely for weight loss reasons.

First of all 9 pounds in one month is a healthy amount to have lost. It is suggested that you aim for a 1-2 lb per week weight loss on any type of diet. Anymore and you are likely starving yourself.
You are messing up because you are treating it like any other diet and restricting yourself. You also aren't committed to it because it is only a method of weight loss to you.
Vegan is not a weight loss diet, you can eat meat and dairy and still lose weight and be healthy. Vegan is more than just what you eat, it is more of a lifestyle. A vegan avoids not only consuming any animal products, but using any either. That goes for makeup, clothing, etc.
If you want to continue with a vegetarian diet that excludes dairy and eggs, then find substitutes for the things you crave. Many chinese places have vegetarian options. There is vegetarian chocolate. As others have suggest, bring your own popcorn or treats to the movies.

Sam above made a good point, if you are too restrictive, you will lose control and binge. Eat healthy. Make sure you are eating enough calories.
I use myplate.com to track my calories, fat, carbs, etc. It has a feature where you input how much weight you want to lose and calculates how many calories you should be eating. You can also put in your activity so you can account for that.
