VEGANS, please answer this?!

Question: VEGANS, please answer this?
So it's from whole foods, my moms boyfriend got it and I was wondering if it's safe to eat for vegans
Okay so here are the ingredients

cornsyrup, sugar, cornstarch-modified(non GMO), malic acid, natural flavor, sodium citrate, coloree with vegetable extract(radish)

I'm like to my mom I can't eat this because it doesn't say where the natrual flavor is dervived from an animal or plant, and she got mad at me because she's like oh, this isn't even helping any animals you're just obsessed and blah blah blah. I just don't know of this is vegan or not, cause it would usually say natural flavor(vegetable source) but it didn't

Answers:

1. did it come from vegeterian/vegan section in freezer at whole food store? some of them have vegan section for foods and other have organic section. it is a big difference.
if you get it from vegan section, then it probanly is not animal deprived.

let me give you advice...you cant be 100 percents safe , a lot of us make mistake eating foods when it is actually animal deprived hidden. Still we vegan . whole food will do anything to hide animal deprived , rennet, or etc.

we just gotta try the best , move on and eat it ...as long we dont mean to eat animal products on purpose.

In other meaning, DONT TAKE IT TOO FAR IN VEGANISM STATE (NO ONE IS PERFECT)

can i ask u again, who is real vegan... there are a lot of vegans that do their diets differently yet hardcore in their own way of opinion. dont take no one word personally

vegan

I used to be a chef and we had a simple rule of thumb for food safety: "If in doubt, chuck it out."
I apply this same rule to foods which I'm not sure are vegan or not. Of course I don't waste it by throwing it away, I just don't eat it. It's the principle I'm getting at- if there is uncertainty, err on the side of caution. Let your mum or her partner eat it, feed it to a stray cat etc.

I would be less worried about staying vegan and more worried about becoming DIABETIC eating crap ingredients like that!!!!

corn syrup, sugar , starch ... there goes your glycemic index, can't you be vegan and still be health conscious , hemlock doesn't come from an animal, nor does cocaine.

The only this is the natural flavor. You're right, it can be plant OR animal derived. If you'd like, you could call the company and ask. Or just use your own judgment/decide if you want to eat it or not.

Sometimes sugar is commonly made from chared cow bone. Other times its beat sugar... 50/50 ratio.
And your mother is partialy right about the natural flavors. :)

This looks familiar :) Call the company and ask. Its as simple as that!

What type of food is it? if it is more like a baked treat its probably not meat.

It needs fish, so no.
