How to become a vegan?!

Question: How to become a vegan?
So i've been thinking about becoming a vegan (or at least trying it out for a little while) Before you gripe me out & say eating meat is the natural order of life or something, yes i know. I love meat, i love hamburgers & etc but i really want a lifestyle change for health issues & after reading more into it i at least want to try it. Is anyone on here a vegan? What are things you enjoy to eat? What are the pros & cons?

Eating meat is the natural order of life as far as I remember. But where would this world be without trailblazers, the people that are unafraid to say, "This is not me or who I want to be. I'm changing this." To me, being a vegan is about the animals & the planet. As a vegan, I stand against the cruelty of animals, against the destruction of this planet. As for the health benefits, we're all dying in the end. But being a vegan definitely extends your stay. Part of being a vegan (to me) is encouraging others to join you, even if it's just recycling or eating a vegan lunch once a week.

Eat: Chips, peanut butter, nuts, salads. Buy this ---> VEGAN PLANET, your vegan cookbook chock full of the best tasting vegan recipes.

Pro's: Longer healthier life (in certain cases). No blood of innocent animals on your hands. But most importantly, bragging rights! (C'mon, how many friends do you have that are vegan, or could even pull it off for a week?!)

Con's: Longer lifespan (can also be a con in certain cases). Scenario... Friends want to go to a restaurant, what can you have? Probably not a darn thing. Raw salad for you, maybe a baked potato if you're lucky.

Try it, you'll feel better. Plus, the bragging rights!!! :)

I'm so vegan, they call me Brussel Crow. :D

When I was confused about veganism and health, this podcast really helped me out. It's done by a woman named Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, a vegan dietitian and chef. It has info on how to start veganism, how to do it healthfully, and lots of info about why people become vegan.

Log on to iTunes, search "Vegetarian Food for Thought" and download all the podcast episodes for free! They are listed by title, so if you want info on calcium, click on the calcium episode, or others like "The Definition of Vegan" or "The Protein Myth"

This definitely helped me transition from vegetarian to vegan

Vegan

I'm a vegan for health reasons, and I'll admit it's a lot of work. I have to plan out meals very carefully to make sure I'm getting the nutrition I need, and I take 3 vitamins daily for Iron, protein, and vitamin B12. But you'll get used to it, and after a while you won't even want to eat meat! Good luck. (:

Vegan of four years.

It is a healthy lifestyle.Vegans rarely have high cholestrial levels or high blood pressure, you will be less likely to develop heart disease, cancer and diabetes and unlikely to become obese.Your general fitness will improve and you will have clearer skin. A vegan diet if properly planned and well balanced provides all the nutrients you need.Look up the Vegan Society for advice and some great recepe ideas.Vegans dont need to take pills to stay healthy.

you have to do more cooking on your own, and read more labels. grocery shopping takes a little longer at first. You just basically have to pay more attention to your food.

I love eating italian food like pasta and veggies and cheeseless veggie pizza. I also like making home made soups and vegan chili with soy meat crumbles.

A vegan is someone who doesn't eat animals or animal products (such as honey). Also, I believe once you stop being a vegan, you can't become one again.

Don't eat any animal products or anything an animal produces. It's the easiest advice any vegan can give you.

Sorry, once you lose your veganity thats it, you cant get it back.

Lose all your intelligence.

well being vegan is extremely hard if you are a person that loves food, but you can try being vegan for a week or 2 if you want a vegan experience, i will start with the pros
1. it will help you lose weight
2.less cholesterol
the cons are
1. it will be 10x times harder when you are hungry and you can't find food
2. it will be hard to know the products with no animal traces in it
3. forget about honey and sugar
4. you will have to go to the bathroom a lot more often
5. you will need vitamin suplements
6. you have to eat like 7 meals a day

all the vegans I know need to take pills cuz of lack of certain vitamins and calcium ,if you need a new lifestyle cuz of health issues become a vegetarian ,im not saying its healthy but sure its heathier
