There is protein in everything. Every single cell of every living organism contains protein. You only need to be careful about eating plant foods high in protein if you are dieting and sticking to certain calorie levels, in which case you'd go with protein extracts like tofu, tempeh etc.
I have a mild nut allergy which gives me hayfever symptoms. Cashews and walnuts are the worst. Also I'm allergic to avocado and kiwi fruits. Sucks because I like all those foods.

Are you allergic to all nuts? My sister was just allergic to pecans, walnuts, cashews but she could eat peanuts and sunflower seeds. I can eat just about all nuts except maybe macadamia nuts. I say that because one time I had a cookie with those nuts in it, and it made my stomach hurt and just made me feel bad all over. But it could have just been a bad cookie. Either way, I never touched those nuts again lol. But I understand one's skepticism who is allergic to certain nuts. My sister had a couple of close calls there when she ate sweets that had pecans in them and she wasn't aware of it. That has to be really a struggle trying to make sure that you don't ingest something that has nuts in it that could possibly take your life! : > ( . Many products will tell on the package (they had to by law after many deaths), that the product was produced around other nuts than the ones inside of the cookie or whatever.
Do beans have a lot of protein? Maybe look more into it. I think they do, and if so, then beans. Eat beans.
Beans, tofu, tempeh, lentils, whole grains.
