looking for a good resource for kid friendly vegetarian meals?!
here's the situation: i am about 8 weeks pregnant, and meat and greasy foods are NOT friends!! they make my stomach turn!! my kids already stick their noses up to most meat, so leaving it out of meals isn't the problem...it's finding kid friendly meals with the protien replacements in them that is. my kids don't exactly like lentils, beans, or heck...even COOKED vegetables! what can i say...they are kids!
my 6 year old son will easily eat raw veggies with dip, which is great, but i'd love to sneak some meals in that he doesn't even blink at. my 2.5 year old daughter just won't touch veggies...raw or cooked...and she's been eating only noodles, breads, wraps or dark chicken meat (the only meat my kids seem to like) SO, if anyone has a good vegetarian website, or a tried and true vegetarian meal that their kids love, i'd love to try it out!!
please note * no vegie-meat stuff though...the idea of meat right now (even fake) makes me want to toss my cookies! thanks so much!!

Go to the Animals Australia site and click on the link called 'Why Vege'
It has heaps of vegan and vegetarian recipes
I think I heard of a vegetarian family website. Do your kids like peanut butter? Or other nut butters? Those are great for protein. Perhaps you could puree the vegetables as a soup; will the kids eat that? I've heard of parents sneaking vegetables into their kids' meals with creative cooking and mashing.
And www.vegweb.com has a section with kid-friendly recipes.
Not a mom, but a vegan.
-Mac 'n Cheese
-Broccoli cooked and covered in cheese
-use a false meat! Make vegan burger, and tell them later after they admit they liked it. ;) French fries are veg, so just home cook 'em, try to find a less greasy brand like Orella
-Beans are good for protein
-Add nuts and seeds on the side, perhaps...
-Again, a vegan meat, but there are vegan and vegetarian hot dogs they may enjoy.
There is a good book called "Beyond Peanut Butter and Jelly" full of vegetarian recipes for kids.
These websites have recipes:

You could make lasange without the meat or sub meat, just add lots of veggies into it, its really nice, Cheesy and pastery. I love it i have always loved it. Toss a couple of peas in and sliced carrots and sweetcorn and its real nice. This wont work if your going to Vegan Vegetarian cause Cheese is milk.
Umm, have you tried mcoven (sp?) oven chips, there quite nice, with some beans and ketchup there easily eaten.
Tomartoe grilled sandwiches. Basically, Bred, Butter, Chopped tomartoes, grilled. Lovely! xD
Try googling some kid recipes for more ;)
