kind of.but sometimes were able to find decent places that are safe for us.( im vegetarian not vegan)

like their's pizza places i know that has vegetiable pizzas.

In my experience it's not hard, because veganism is becoming better known in the mainstream all the time, and most restaurants I've come across actually know what vegan means, and the menu is bound to have at least basic vegan options (not always the most interesting ones).

If you're not sure, you can a) ring the restaurant ahead to let them know a vegan is coming, and/or b) ask the waiter if they have vegan options when you order; if the worst comes to the worst they will usually be willing to give you a meal with ingredient/s removed, eg. a greek salad without fetta, or risotto without cheese, and so forth.

Having said that, many areas have veg-friendly or totally veg restaurants. I tend to go to these most often, they are full of very interesting, hearty and gourmet vegan meals :)

So long as you avoid Denny's (unless you feel like going somewhere where salad with various ingredients removed is your only option), you should be able to find something to eat just about anywhere. I often have good luck with Mexican, Chinese, and sandwich places. If all else fails, there are vegetarian restaurants in lots of cities these days, and they're usually super vegan-friendly.

My partner and I are vegan.

No, it's not difficult. I've been vegan for the past four years and my mom has been vegan for three years, as well. We live in Chicago and there are a ton of great all-veg restaurants around here. That being said, if you go to ANY restaurant, you can always request a vegan dish and the chef will be more than happy to prepare it for you.

Even chain restaurants like Subway, Chiptole, Taco Bell, Panera Bread, Jimmy Johns, Jamba Juice, California Pizza Kitchen, and 7/11 have awesome vegan options! :)

I love being vegan -- I feel healthier and I know I'm saving the environment and animals!

It's hard for me to eat out, and I'm just a vegetarian, but I don't eat cheese. I can't imagine how tough it is for vegans, especially with all the hidden animal ingredients in food these days.. Go you, vegans! :D

EDIT: I was at Outback with my aunt and uncle once, and the waitress offered me some of their new bread that they made specially for vegans. It made my day :)

I mean its not impossible though... A lot of restaurants are seeing the number of vegan's joining the atmosphere... and are becoming accommodating... I mean if you are just starting out being vegan though you may be disappointed in the options because most have only salads... and more often then not they forget to not include the cheese in the salad or they have egg based dressings... But you grow to be polite about mentioning it... It is a healthy life style though if you take vitamins and such.

I live in Washington, DC, and it's pretty easy to get a meal here. If you live in New York City, there are TONS of vegan restaurants. Even Orlando, where my family is, has decent options at omni restaurants and a few vegetarian restaurants.

So I guess it depends where you live.

It's terrible! Hopefully you live in a big city and there is a specifically vegan restaurant near you ... otherwise good luck. Home-cooked is better for you anyways.

I'm a vegan, and I just got back from a steak house.

I had salad, fried okra, sauteed mushrooms, and chips and salsa.

Oh, yes, vegans are so so deprived.

xD

I am vegetarian and i think it is hard finding meals that will fit my diet so i would imagine it would be almost impossible for vegans

Yes. Yes it is.

Ya that's why they turn down alot of dates and stuff

If that is true then don't get a vegan boyfriend. . . He won't ever PLEASURE you, ;)
